Who agrees? dudes got a great voice, good flow, has something substantial in his material content, released some great albums on the underground.
Who is also a fan and is of the same opinion? post up your thoughts!
-
I've only juss started listening to his stuff after mentions on this board.
Dude is definately nice on the mic.
-
Hell yeah, Murs is dope. No fuckin doubt.
-
i agree
-
I got his latest effort and Varsity Blues, and there both good, it's only been over the last six months I've been checking for him, due to recommendations from here.
What other albums do you recommend I get hold of?
-
3:16 the 9th edition!
-
im the same, its only been 12 months since i started getting into him properly, i was a sleeper before too i admit!
if you got murrays revenge then get 3:16 (GREAT album, 9th laced some incredible beats on that)
im also a fan of his other releases
Good Music
Murs Rules The World
and his Living Legends stuff is worth a look
Classic
Creative Differences
Crappy Old Sh*t (its okish)

Yea i agree 100%, his album quality is always of a good standard, he's got an ear for beats that he can actually compliment, whereas some artists just spit on a track cause it sounds good...
And good questions...i thought justin confirmed it had been recorded!?...i know who it was with but i dunno what happened....
-
Has he got a Myspace or something where I can listen to some tracks?? I have been sleeping too, I admit it, but admitting your problem is the first step on the way to change ;D
-
http://www.myspace.com/murs
indeed, youve taken the first step ;D
-
the albums he did with 9th Wonder is dope... "Yesterday and Today" is :o
-
who was the LA remix recorded with ???.. õn tha real tho people need to stop sleepin .. ~~

I dont suppose it matters now as it doesnt look like it was done/or wont be dropped - if i remember right it was Ice Cube...
-
Murs is dope, but he'll be ignored since he doesn't gangbang all over his records, act like a dumbass and talk shit.
-
Hes my favourite. Check out alot of his stuff from The End of the Beginning, songs like You & I, What Do You Know, and my favourite Murs track, The Night Before..
-
Oh yeah, and if you dig Atmosphere/Slug check out the Felt albums theyre really dope too.
-
Hell yeah he is still slept on a whole lot. It's bad, because it's still a large number of people in L.A. who don't know anything about him...and it's mainly the black ones who don't.
He has a helluva strong fan base though....people who love him love him to death, and that's always important.

I was about to ask the same question- what a shame he didn't push this, any ideas why?
I'll pick up 3:16 real soon, it's about time ;).
-
his whole catalog is quuality.......stand outs are 3:16, murs rules the world, and good music.......murrys revenge, end of the beginning, and varsity blues are also very dope........like dude said, check out both felt albums (i think felt 2 is better both lyric and production wise), as well as his vast catalog wit living legends and their group memebers (way too many callabos to count........i prefer PSC appearances and all the 3 mg stuff....might go over sum peoples heads tho').........MURS gets crazy support in the LA underground, seen him live many times and he rips it in front of a crowd that most mainstream rapppers cant attract......he preforms in LA alot, so if your out here, i advise you check him out...........theres a whole hip hop scene in LA that goes far beyond anything covered on this board, heads should look into it.....theres sum great mc's underground
-
I couldn't agree more. My favorite album of his is the Varsity Blues EP. I know it's short, but every song on there is great.
-
Yeah man I've been saying this for a couple years now. I got into him back in 2004
-
Yeah, he's lacking the respect he deserves. It's too bad.
-
only got 3:16 and murrays revenge, both very good albums.
-
Damn I never have really heard this guy much, but after reading this thread that has to change. Im gonna start my checking out the tracks on his myspace page.
-
i've only heard his albums with 9th wonder, and they were both awesome
haven't heard much else though
-
Couldn't agree more with everything said in this thread. Dude is fuckin tight and slept on but like R=Tistic said dude has a strong followin in the underground. One of my favorite artist of all time. I still think "Murray's Revenge" is the best album of 2006 so far. Been listening to him ever since "The End Of The Beginning" droped and that was 03 or 04.
-
plus the LA video was the business .. if the remix with Cube had dropped that would have been HUGE !!
-
Mur's will prob. go down in history as one of the great's. Sometimes not being overexposed is the best thing for an Artist, because it give's you a longer shelf life, and trust me, hlf of these dude's you hear about now want be around in the next few years. Murs will def be here
-
Rud, can you release why Murs didn't push the remix?
-
As i said earlier i dunno, maybe justin does...i don't know for sure if it was even recorded! hope it was cause it may some time get out! :-)
-
Murs >>>Any New Westcoast Cat
He is a westcoast legend, and underground Legend, A LIVING Legend, dude is amazing
-
Re: Murs deserves more recognition and respect...
I concur...would love to hear that LA Remix too!
-
glad i made this thread now, its brought together the Murs faithful AND given people who until now had slept on him to come forward and move on to listen to his material :) keep it coming!
