Title: 2Pac - 10 years without the Legend...
Post by: PICA$$O on September 10, 2006, 03:00:26 PM
Who has got the last XXL? I'm not surprised 2 see my man on the cover, but damn.... it's been 10 fuckin years... Unbelievable.  His death has definatelly made him more recognized and popular than when he was alive, but I wish he was alive... The whole game would've been different, and I think better too... That man made u wanna go beyond ur abilities, get better every second, man... Miss u 'Pac, R.I.P.
By the way any1 wanna share what's their favorite Tupac song?  "Against All Odds" gotta be at least one of top 3 for me...

I'd say "I Get Around" is my favorite 2Pac song. That "Still Ballin" track with Trick Daddy bangs hard even though someone put that song together i don't give a fuck what anyone says.

His death was my Kennedy assassination. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard about his death.

I was 11 years old living in Palmdale, CA at the time. I saw it on MTV news so I ran outside to tell some of my homies, but they all already knew. I saw these fine ass 16 year old girls that lived down the street from me outside crying n shit. Now they're all probably married with children lol.

It's a shame. He had so much talent and potential. It's also a shame his mother whored out his name and suburban faggots try so hard to be him and would give their left nut to snort his ashes.

RIP 2pac

Tupac Shakur was ahead of his time and not only the greatest rap artist of all time but one of the all time greats in any genre period, a shame he didn't get to do more when he was alive.

R.I.P. Tupac Shakur the GOAT

I think that's from The Show soundtrack, 1995. They just remixed it for Better Dayz.

U right his Mom did whore out his name, his image and so on... I doubt Pac would be makin songs w/ Eminem or 50 Cent... he would shit on bunch of other muthafuckaz 2....    PAC RIP GOAT NO BS

"Lord Knows" is one of my favorite songs by Pac also, too sick:

...I smoke a blunt to take the pain out
And if I wasn't high, I'd probably try to blow my brains out
I'm hopeless, they shoulda killed me as a baby
And now they got me trapped in the storm, I'm goin crazy
Forgive me; they wanna see me in my casket
and if I don't blast I'll be the victim of them bastards
I'm loosin hope, they got me stressin, can the Lord forgive me
Got the spirit of a thug in me
Another sip of that drink, this Hennesey got me queasy
Don't wanna earl, young nigga take it easy
Picture your dreams on a triple beam, and it seems
don't underestimate the power of a fiend
To my homies on the block
slangin rocks with your glocks put this tape in your box
When you're runnin from the cops -- and never look back
If they could be black, then they would switch
Open fire on them busta-ass bitches, and Lord knows...
...I wonder if the Lord will forgive me or bury me a G
I couldn't let my adversaries worry me
and every single day it's a test, wear a bulletproof vest
and still a nigga stressin over death
If I could choose when a nigga die, figure I'd
take a puff on the blunt, and let my trigga fly
When everyday it's another death, with every breath,
it's a constant threat, so watch yo' step!
You could be next if you want to, who do you run to?
Murderin niggaz, look what it's come to
My memories bring me misery, and life is hard
in the ghetto, it's insanity, I can't breath
Got me thinkin, what do Hell got?
Cause I done suffered so much, I'm feelin shell-shocked
And driveby's an everyday thang
I done lost too many homies to this motherfuckin game
and Lord knows...
...One-time! One-time!
Fuck the five-oh cause they after me
Kill me if they could, I'll never let em capture me
Done lost too many niggaz to this gangbangin
Homies died in my arms, with his brains hangin, fucked up!
I had to tell him it was alright, and that's a lie
and he knew it when he shook and died, my God
Even though I know I'm wrong man
Hennesey make a nigga think he strong, man (heh heh)
I can't sleep, so I stay up, don't wanna fuck them bitches
Try to calm me down, I ain't givin up
I'm gettin lost in the weed, man, gettin high
Livin everday, like I'm gon' die (gon' die, gon' die)
I smoke a blunt to take the pain out, and if I wasn't high
probably try to blow my brains out
Lord knows...

Word.  Very hard to believe it's been 10 years.  Like Sikotic said, it really was like the Kennedy assassination of my generation - I remember exactly where I was when I heard he died.  It was completely shocking, and I was sad as hell.  I honestly feel sorry for peeps that weren't bumpin him when he was alive.  He was an incredible artist, and his legacy has been grossly tainted which really sucks.  Pac was such a versitile dude - he could make tracks that you could relate to on many levels, and had a wide range of subject matter.  Whatever you're feeling like, Pac wrote a song about.  And that's what makes him one of my favorite artists musically, not just hip hop.  You felt like you knew the dude.  Just the way he wrote, and spoke his mind & heart, you could relate to him.

So RIP Pac, I will most def smoke and bump your music all day.  It's a celebration bitches! 8)
