"Nas' latest album, Stillmatic has apparently gone Gold. According to the Choice FM rap show, the album has surpassed the 500,000 sales figure in it's first week, certifying it a Gold Plaque. This is despite the bootlegging of the album a couple of weeks prior to it's release. This is another victory over Jay-Z, who could only manage 400,000+ sold in his first week, although his album did drop on the same day as the WTC disaster. Whether this will be enough for Nas to enter the charts at #1 is another story. All shall be revealed later in the week."

How is Nas selling 500,000 the week before Christmas a victory over Jay Z who still managed to push well over 400,000 units during the week of the United States' biggest tragedy ever? Give me a break. Im happy for Nas, but his numbers arent NEARLY as impressive as Jay Z.

Look, I like Nas-but lets face facts. First off-the 500,000 isnt official yet..
Second off-This is the BIGGEST week of album sales of the year. So in this case, Im more interested in his 3rd week sales, as opposed to his first weeks.
And last but not least, Nas made a video but its failed to generate a buzz-thats fine. But what has generated a buzz is his feud with JayZ, which you have to admit has done A LOT for these supposed "500,000" copies he's sold. So hey-Im glad for Nas and Stillmatic is a pretty decent album..but let's wait untill the 500,000 in 1 week is confirmed and let's also see if hes even selling 100,000 for week 3 weeks from now.

Well..Most of the people i know (real world, not online) love the Blueprint and find Stillmatic so-so. Look-Stillmatic has been out for about 7 days is all. Let's not judge the album and its sales till its been out for a few months--its just not fair to do it anyother way.

i'm one of the few people whose ACTUALLY from the westcoast here and i can honestly say that jay-z and nas get about the same amount of fans out here, so whoever said nas will never be on top becuase he doesn't get as much love on the west, your wrong homie......even my cousins in e. LA say tell me the same shit
when blueprint came out alot of people out here bought it but like about 85% of the people i know who bought liked it at first but got sick of it after a while, and everyone i know who bought stillmatic and blueprint have said that Stillmatic is a better album, hell today my cousin got BOTH albums today for Christmas and i asked him which one he liked better and he even said Stillmatic

the blueprint was a hot album when it first came out but then it died out but I still hear it in the streets. Just like nas album right now it is the hottest thing out right now but it will die out just like every album that comes out. but I like stillmatic way better. I dont give a fuck who sold more or what buildings came down and hurt sells. PLAYA510, did nas really come with 3 wack albums before Stillmatic? Maybe only nastradamus was the wack one. Is jsut that Illmatic set standard so high for Nas that everybody was expecting another Classic and another illmatic is not possible, but It was written and i am are both great albums. without illmatic Nas will still be respected in Hip Hop so for nas .....two great albums and two classics but one weak one.....not so bad at all

i personally didn't like neither of the albums, but i'll listen to nas' stillmatic album over jay-z's blueprint, at least nas is rapping and got some tight lyrics, to me jigga man doesnt even sound like he is rapping anymore, blueprint made my ears bleed
hey at least u cant call me nas dickrider or jayz dickrider, cause i wouldnt buy either of their albums
i still like some songs from both of them like nas' shoot em up etc, jigga's big pimping (mostly ugk part is my favorite though)
