XXL is plain shallow and ignorant while The Source is filled with simplistic propaganda (even in the after-Benzino-era). As long as you keep that in mind, you'll find The Source having the most journalistic integrity. The best hiphop magazine? Scratch, easily.

I don't really see how that affects the magazine itself. It keeps the magazine from becoming expensive, and as a reader you can simply turn the page and read on. Nobody's forcing you to pay attention to the ads!

Because it makes it look like you're getting more than you are and it is also capitalist advertising.
