Dubcnn had the fantastic opportunity to speak with J-Dee from Da Lench Mob, who has been incarcerated now for over 13 years. We discuss the effect his imprisonment has had on his life and how he views life, aswell as how he has made use of the time such as him recently completing an Associates Degreewe.
We take some time to look back over his career with Da Lench Mob and the relationship with Ice Cube, and we also talk about who have been keeping in touch helping him keep his head up. We also focus on the "Free J-Dee Project" which is being worked on by Jazzy D at present and much more.

Shouts out to Jazzy D and Ms. BattleCry for their help.

Damn, I thought Cube just said in the August interview w/DUBCNN that he DID write J-DEE back a couple times ??? Anyway, hopefully some more artists will supply some help for the record and help free the man if he truly is innocent.

damn, that´s fucked up. i remember reading about this shit on Daveyd.com a couple of years ago and it fucked with my head that Cube´s dealt with this shit like a square. props to J for taking this shit like a man and still having a somewhat positive take on it all. and is that the full address if you wanna send him a letter from overseas aswell?
-
^^ sure is, please write, i know he'd love to hear from ya.

He seems to have changed his tone about Cube.
As for calling 'Buck The Devil' bullshit, he crazy?
That debut Lench Mob record is classic from intro to outro.
If there is one song from that lp that defines J-Dee it's 'Lost In The System'.
-
^ I wouldn't say he has changed his tone (about Cube) so much as this interview represents his feelings more accurately and shows the different facets of his thinking. J-Dee is human and that hellhole at times will bring out the worst in anyone. He has his days when he is very frustrated and the pain he feels at not feeling the love and support from Ice Cube and the people he considered family is almost overwhelming to him. But at the end of the day he still has love for them, that's why it hurts him so bad. As you know, beef sells and past interviews were sometimes edited out and revised that showed only one side of the coin. Nima printed this interview verbatim....major propz for that!
J-Dee doesn't like the song "Buck the Devil" as he doesn't like fueling stereotypes.
Thanks for reading the article! 8)

J-Dee's Uncle, Darryl Roberts, was shot and killed on October 1st. We were just talking about how his pops had been murdered 20 years ago. J-Dee's not taking this well....makes it even harder being locked up. Please keep him in your prayers or maybe drop him a line or two, I know he would appreciate it.
