So I finally got "Food & Liquor" today (I pre-ordered it last month and didn't listen to the leaked version cause I didn't want to spoil the experience).
And DAMN, this shit is hot. It's everything I thought it would be and more. I'm still digging "Kick, Push" and "The Instrumental" as much as before, but otherwise, I'm also really lovin' "Pressure" with Jay-Z and "He Say, She Say". The production is extremely dope, and Lupe is simply one of the most inventive MCs I've heard since Redman. And his shit is positive and spiritual, which makes it all better.
Highly recommended. This is easily the best album of 2006 so far.

I liked "Kick Push". Haven't heard anything else off of it. Can you give a rundown of the producers?
-
its out now?
-
^^^^ Yes, just came out today in the U.S. Later in other countries (I think someone else mentioned the U.K. gets it on the 25th)...

Thanks, just found the list in the vault. Who is Prolyfik & Soundtrakk? Are these Lupe's in house producers or have they done some other work? "Kick, Push" was a real dope production, and Lupe actually has some originality to him. I just might have to cop this shit.
-
^^^^ Yep, both those cats are in-house producers on Lupe's label 1st & 15th.
If you like "Kick, Push", you'll find plenty of other tracks to like on this album. Soundtrakk did that joint, BTW.

Best produced album of 2006. Overall, a solid album and shouldn't be slept on. Go pick this up!!

kick push is such a boring song
-
i got it today and i was very disapointed.
kick push is the hottest track on it.... like 4 other tracks that are very good.... like 5 average tracks, and the rest is not too good, mostly the beats are wack... songs 1-4 are bad.
-
really feeling this album, dont think theres a single track on there that i dont like, will be picking it up 100% when it drops in the uk.
-
this album is already way too overrated, some corny hooks on several songs... not feeling it THAT much
-
Didn't really care for "Kick, Push". Skillwise it was cool, but the subject is almost completely alien to me. The other video they had, "Daydream" I think it was, was alright, it was cool, but not really 'my flavor'.
Can't deny the dude can rap though. But I'm not adding him to any "top 5" lists anytime soon...
Gotta also give it up for him for making music about stuff that nobody else in the mainstream is really doing. The game could use something fresh for a change.

Definatly a great album, I would even buy it and thats saying something because I'm currently trying to collect stuff by my favourite artists so haven't bought a new release for over a year.
