Title: Where to live in London?
Post by: Lord Funk on September 21, 2006, 01:51:14 PM
Just got a new job which means moving to London - can anyone here recommend where to look for a flat to rent?

I want a 1 or 2 bedroom place, ideally for no more than £800 a month. I don't want to live in a shit hole - my missus is a youth worker so it's got to be safe enough for her to walk around at night.

Anyione got any ideas??? Cheers.

for £800 p/month, you'd probably be better off coming out of london and getting a bigger 2 bed house in Essex.. of course that'd mean more travelling though, about 30/40 mins each day.. I guess it depends where in London the job is.

The job's near Liverpool Street station.... I know what you mean - maybe I'd be better further out... ???

I'm no expert, but coming from where I'm based, (Essex), on a train to Liverpool Street takes about 40 minutes, dont hold me to it though, because I have only gone direct to that station a couple of times.

I have just moved into a 2-bed semi, in a reasonably expensive area, and that costs £750 a month..

North london is always the safest place, if you haven't decided yet

liverpool street isnt far from where im at

in and around central london is gonna cost you quite a bit .. for obvious reasons..i think it would be a wiser idea to move to somewhere just out of london  , if your job is going to be in liverpool street then essex will be quite a far way to get to work  ;)
