It's playing on the radio now and seems to be getting a lot of good spins, but I'm wondering if it will peak too soon before the album drops almost 2 month later.
-
It all depends on the actuall release date. Bustas Touch It was all over the place but the album got pushed back and we all know what happened.
-
no...1and a half months till the album drops
plus they still havnt put out the video for it
ice cubes single dropped months before the album, didnt really hurt that
even though mainstream fans hav short attention span i think he'll be ok

It is a catch 22. If the song knocks and people like it, as long as there are no changes in the date it's cool. But if the song bombs then at least it gives you enough time to pick another single. In most cases the label or the artist either has so many songs to choose from they pick a single to see how it does, or they do not have a song that they really think can have heavy radio play. So they just put something out there. But if it tanks early, it is not a good sign (Lloyd Banks is a perfect example of this right now)

Like someone said, it's not too early because there's no video. Which means right now the song is slowly reaching people's ears (via radio or internet) while "One Blood" continues to make noise. If "Strip Club" isn't big then he's fucked though cuz he's gonna get pushed back again and have to find another single.

I don't think it leaked too early... I live on the East Coast in Rhode Island and most cats haven't heard the track yet. It's really only the Cali heads and the internet fans that have been bumpin' this track the most.
The release of this track seem about right to me... it's buildin' hype right now.
Speakin' of which though, livin' in RI, I was a little shocked, but souped at what I seen the other night. There was a "Game Promotional Van" going around the downtown of my city Providence a few nights ago handing out fliers and music, etc for the new album.
He got a good street team, because the fliers are up all over the city... I'm sure this is common in California, but for them to be makin' moves like that in RI really shocked me.

He really is setting up the LP nice because he is going to have at least 2 singles poppin on the radio/tv to help promote. And they are 2 completely different songs. 1 street single and a club banger. And once a song takes off in the club, it will usually mean good sales.
