Title: Rockets sign Bonzi Wells to 2 yr deal.
Post by: truedupbluedup on September 27, 2006, 11:13:19 PM
big move for Rockets, if Yao and TMac stay healthy which is a big if and Swift shows up with Bonzi they could be dangerous.  I know Kevin Martin is real good but Sac is going to miss Bonzi alot.  Bonzi is unguardable in the post against other 2's and 3's, plus he is a very good defender, has that Artest type intensity and grabs 7,8 rebounds as a shooting guard, the man can play.

I'm glad he's still in the West.

Damn Houston is finally making moves. Like you said, if McGrady & Yao can stay healthy then they could be dangerous. Yao, McGrady, Battier, and B.Wells  :o

wow I forgot to mention Battier, what a great aquisition that was.  Houston is on the rise.

Why? Are you not a Laker fan? LOL...The stronger the west gets, the tougher the Lakers road to elite status gets. I believe Houston has a nice roster, their problem is always getting them all together to play. Too bad they couldn't pick up Mike James, then they'd really be dangerous...As of now, I predict they will still have to fight for a playoff spot, probably capturing the 7th or 8th seed...

Houston Rockets:
PG Rafer Alston...Luther Head/John Lucas III
SG Bonzi Wells...Kirk Snyder/Bob Sura
SF Tracy McGrady...Chuck Hayes/Casey Jacobsen
PF Shane Battier...Juwan Howard/Ryan Bowen
C Yao Ming...Dikembe Mutombo/Steve Novak

If they're ALL healthy the whole year (which they won't be), they can go as high as a 5th seed, MAYBE 4th...Like I said though, they'll probably be struggling for the 7th or 8th seed...Lakers >> Rockets.

McGrady's back can go out just as well as Kobe's shoulder going out.  Injuries are the one thing that happens in sport that no one can predict.

Edit:  I really don't care about the Lakers.  Kobe Bryant is the best player in the NBA and I respect that but blind homerism is just plain annoying.

lol Kobe just played 80 games this season. I'm not sayin he can't get injured, but he's not injury prone. has McGrady ever played 70+ games?

Yeah right, LOL!
You cant sit here and tell me that there are people that are injury prone...thats just bullshit, injuries are predictable but not completly. Thats why the same people get hurt over and over and over...Grant Hill is the perfect example of this, you could pretty much predict his inury every year.
Can you argue with that?

Then predict them.  Your big example is Grant Hill who had microfracture surgery, when at his age, it's hard to come back from.

It's a FACT that some players are more injury prone than others...T-Mac has had back problems throughout his career. Same shit with Grant Hill and Penny Hardaway's knee...Kobe has had minor injuries here and there throughout his career, nothing that has affected him in the long run. That's why Phil Jackson said about McGrady, "When it gets time to go back on defense, it's always 'my back hurts'". :-X

LMAO@The comparison...The surgery Kobe got was not required, it was to insure that no further damage would be done to the knee...It's basically like he got a brand new knee...Back problems are the worst, most of the time, they're career-enders and only get worse and worse as you go along...PeACe

Good job, even though they didn't have Yao most of the year they still have a chance for homecourt in the first round.  First round playoffs are shaping up nicely, I hate the Jazz more than anything so if the Rockets knock them off it will be like heaven plus the Lakers look like they could play the Suns and hopefully they can pull it off.

The Suns are the last team I want the Rockets to face.

LMFAO. By far the best franchise? It's not even close? That's pretty damn dumb, homie.  So because the Bill Russell led Celtics won a grip of championships in one stretch WAY back in the days, the Celtics are somehow equal to the Lakers as a franchise? Lakers conference titles=28. Celtics conference titles=19...Laker dynasties >>>>>>> Celtic dynasties. Mikan > Cousy. Wilt > Russell. Magic > Bird. Kareem > Parish. Shaq > Walker. Kobe > Pierce. Pat Riley > KC Jones. Phil Jackson > Red Aurebach. Chick Hearn > Johnny Most. Do you get it yet? Celtics haven't done SHIT in over 15 years, Lakers would never let that happen as a franchise...Do you think we would ever go years and years without playoff appearances? I think LA would burn down the Staples Center if we ever tanked as bad as Boston is used to tanking... :-X

Please don't speak out your ass. You're better than that...I mean, at least if you only said "I think Celtics have the slight edge" (which would still be wrong), but "by far the best"? "not even close"?

How can the celts be better as a franchiuse then the lakers, when they havent even been a factor in 20 yrs???  ::)
Even the year they made it to teh confrence title vs the nets they were still not a REAL factor
