MC Lyte feat. Escape- "Keep On Keepin On"
For all my favorites I got to go back to the best year in music which was 1996. MC Lyte I've never cared much about, but her flow is so on point over this track, and the lyrics are strong, sexual, dignified, wise and intelligent all at the same time. Props to Jermaine Dupri I think he's the one that put this song together. And it was over a great soundtrack and movie from 96' Sunset Park (favorite of mine back in the day). The Dogg Pound and 2pac offered excellent cuts to the soundtrack as well.

I was always partial to that LL & Total track, Loungin (Remix), was one of the doper hiphop/rnb collaborations I can remember.

Ghostface & Mary J. Blige - All That I Got is You

No doubt.. that's one of my all time favorites, that one also came out in 96.

Ghostface & Mary J. Blige - All That I Got is You
Another great track.... this one is a little bit different then what I was talking about though... that track is more melancholy, almost like a soul or a spiritual song.

shit anything pre 2001 is usually a good mix of r&b and hip hop. bryan if allah permits, check out dj quik's ryhtymalism. musically it's one of the greatest fusions of rap and r&b ive heard

Yeah, Rythymalism stands alone, there's really nothing else like it, like you said it's one of the greatest fusions of rap and r&b. One of my favorite albums in 98.

Mary J & Eve's "Not Today" track. Both artists kill it and the beat is fire.
