no stans allowed in this bitch. i think daz killed him self workin wit jd
-
Nah, he's done. He better throw in the towel and stick to making half assed Dogg Pound records.
-
This has been talked about probably 200timez and I am the First the Say Fuck Daz but So So Gangsta was a solid album im still bumbin it Better than anything Kurupt has put out or anybody else out West in my opinion lately anyway. I think the promotion was bad other than that album was good.
-
daz killed himself by working with JD? JD is the only reason that album sounded decent. daz has just lost it and thats all there is to it.
-
wait whats wrong with the album?
-
Daz's flow and delivery is still on point, and shits on most of the people out. I think that's the main reason JD was fuck'n with him, because his voice alone just sounds dope on a beat. But Daz just never had it to be a major star..so I don't think it's a way to say he's "done".

He's done for major releases. Time to go back and throw out a buch of independent albums again.

I disagree there, the tracks Daz & Soopafly did were very legit
-
daz is for certain done with the majors....hell i bet u JD gave him the boot and he unemployed right now
-
so so gangsta is a dope album but the major problem is that there is not one mainstream hit on the disc.
and then they have this daz thang vid full of asses and big uns which will get no airplay,..... and that cut is not even on the album. pff.
most of the better cuts like the one with jagged edge or redman re pulled or canceled or too old. no video, no hit, no numbers. no one out there knows daz. i dont blame the artist for the numbers.
-
no one gives a fukk about Daz anymore
Daz could of had Dre prodcued his entire album on Aftermath and it still would of flopped
the album isn't bad at all, and it got a lot of promo, still is. Without JD on the album, it would of been A LOT worse
Daz is done, he should just stick to indy
-
IMO the album was :o
-
JD will keep him around to do production. Look the album was hardly advertised and the promotion was lacking. On Some Real should have been out a little bit earlier to get a buzz started. But as far as albums, yeah. But Daz has his own company so I am sure he will be back dropping indie stuff. That or put some shit out through Snoop. And what is this whole "comeback" talk? Daz has been out of the major spotlight for a long time. And alot of these kids who buy albums don't know shit about Daz.

i agree wit ever1 up here. 2 me he 2 old 2 be rappin+ he will never have star appeal
-
Sales to me aint important, quality of music is and as long as daz keeps on putting out good music im happy.
-
I really don't know what the fuck yall been listenin to, but the So So Gangsta album copy I listened to was fuckin fire.
-
exactly, it is a dope album. If JD wants to continue promoting the album he should drop Weekend as the next single. Also On Some Real needs a all star remix to it.

I think JD made it clear that he isn't going to promote this album any further.

niggas the album is tite. but its the same o same o. and i needed to edit my post. i didnt mean to say cuz the nigga oldhe should retire cuz that aint 2 old. i am saying he say the same shit. and i am talkin bout his marketability. it seemed like he needed to fuck wit another producer a jay z or something to get his shit off the ground. but now he fucked wit minute man he aint go do shit. i think his career is fucked and even tho he doing indie shit aint nobody checking for that shit cuz he rush that shit 2. i aint sayin it from a hater stand point stans. i am sayin it from a critical view. and i just think the nigga really bombed out bad. aint nobody gone invest in his ass after he flopped like dat. thats my opinion. i see othas feelin the same way. and those that dont i aint madatcha. he just made some fucked up choices 2 me.
when he stole them people money that put 500.00 in his cd
when he talked about dre and game and everybody when he shouldve bonded with all west coast. now snoop late ass trying to do it but shit its only cuz his album aint got the success he want it to. its his ego cuz he got the money.
when daz kept internet beefing and shit
when he put them cds out like every other day.
that nigga dont make good biz decisions.
so its sad that a nigga that came from da dream team camp snoop, pac and dre fucked over his shit.
'rupt need to sit down 2. they seemed washed up 2 me. not cuz of they talent but cuz they spit the same shit and they dont change they style up. and they be trying to do niggas dirty.

weekend aint even getting promoted. so jd took that as a loss. kept moving.

for a rapper that some are saying on here makes bad business decisions , daz aint done that bad has he , he owns his own publishing , successful indie label , his own cd distrbution plant damn doesnt he even own a load of land that is going to be called dogg pound gangstaville county
so even though this album flopped he can still go back to indie releases of his own label n shit so im sure daz aint give a shit

For the last few years....I think we've said that EVERY single album that wasn't Ice Cube, E-40, Snoop or Game, flopped because it didn't get promotion. We said the same for 213, Too Short, DJ Quik, Warren G, Kurupt, DPG Cali iz active, and the list goes on.
I do think Daz got more promotion than the rest of those albums...he had his video on 106 n park...I was just in Atlanta, and they were playin the "Weekend" instrumental on commercials, and a store I went to was givin Daz's So So Gangsta mixtape out to customers (and I didn't even know that mixtape existed)...I know "On some real shit" got rotation in Florida, and u kno it was on radio in L.A...they had a commercial for it on BET...they mentioned that it was being released on 106 and Park....they showed JD and Daz on some special edition of Rap City....and I am sure that I am forgetting some things.
He definitely didn't receive GREAT promotion...but what he got was still more than the other albums that we've said the same for. And what did he do, 20,000? It might be a low number compared to most mainstream releases...but that still might be a career high for Daz, because most of his albums were independant. But the major difference is that he gets all the money back from his indie releases.

co-sign that to the fullest.

I'm not talking just about production. Notice how much crisper this album sounds than any daz album in years? I'm sure JD did the mixing and mastering and it just came out really clean, not to mention the direction he probably gave daz.
-
^^ yea, true
-
Of course he'll "come back" after this. he had nothing to lose already, he's been on the top of the independent game, and he can drop an album right now on DPG recordz and it will sell as much as all his other ones had. He has a strong loyal fan base (hopefully the people on here) who cop the albums every time. Him going to So So Def and flopping didn't do shit at all, cuz now he's back where he started, which was a pretty damn good spot to begin with. And don't forget that he won like 20 million from suing Suge Knight's ass, so he doesn't have to worry about money for the rest of his life.

what world are u in homie? daz indie label aint successful thats why he wanted 2 get a major deal. cd distribution plant and land dpgc county u believe every interview from daz nigga? i aint tryin 2 hate i was kinda disappointed that his shit flopped like that and rtistic is right the nigga is getting some kinda promotions and he still flopped. i think he need to promote us newer cats out there in the rap game. he had a 1 album deal and i dont think the nigga can renegotiate wit a nother label for a major deal. he shoulda really joined forces wit another boss in the business. jd dont know what he doing for the westcoast. the nigga selling 20,000 in the first week was below a flop in comparison to a dj quik or a mack 10 who aint get the same promo and did the same numbers thats what i be looking at

Plenty of people have won money from Suge but who has really got paid from it ??? Keyword Bankruptcy

they aint half assed, his major record was good. just not for the suburban kids so it aint sellin...
KEEP MAKIN THEM INDIE BANGERS, ALL THEM DPG releases (execpt G-CRUNK) have been dope and they still will be
-
i dont think daz will be releasing another solo record on a major label , ever again.
i'm pretty sure he'll be stickin to independant, and working with snoop on projects, and just doing random guest spots for other peoples albums, and doin beats for other peoples albums aswell.
all in all, daz can still do good for himself moneywise, but i think solo LP's on major record labels are over for him.

yep. Labels are always looking to promote younger talent too unless youre a marquee name.

If they dropped that Bad Than A Muthafucka track, censored as Bad Than A Mutha or something like that, the album would grab some sales. For street cred, On Some Real Shit was dope. But not as a unit pusher. I don't know if they could make a Video with Daz that's aimed at the females though.
-
why the fuck did daz hook up with jd anyways
-
good solid album IMO.....
IMO daz has marketability just no charisma....
