i'm not sure if this was exact but jay-z always had beef with nas from day one 'I THINK', i mean thats why you never saw the two collabo together but anyways, this past summer jay publicly dissed nas at that one concert(forgot the name) i think along with mobb deep so nas retaliated with stillmatic!!!!and when blueprint came out, jay-z dissed nas once again on takeover along with mobb deep and i think "u don't know" so nas dissed jay on ether!!!!! and now jay-z came with a weak ass attempt to diss him on super ugly and so on......
i'm not sure though so if i'm wrong at certain points then someone correct me

There is a coupla topics on this @ the Sohh board...supposively Jay has been takin' some shit Nas said to be directed towards him for years, I heard the first few bars one "The Message" off It Was Written was one of the things Jay took personal...Then Bleek got into it cuz he took some shit Nas said to be about him and dissed back...I also heard that the is a Nas freestyle over Mobb Deep's "Eye For An Eye" beat on a Mix-Tape that is supposed to be how it started too, so i really dunno how this shit happened...
