The Swing Crew aka Blackground Entertainment. Who the fuck are they? They were a very talented clique that had shit pretty much locked down from 1996 - 2001. Of course the common denominator is a guy still making sick beats today, but I'll always prefer his hip hop / R&B joints to his pop joints. Anyways, check out this brief look at this sick roster and these REALLY dope songs. It's a trip to think that all of this talent was on one label and how many sick joints they put out. For whatever reason, you never hear peeps mention this clique so I thought I would! So bump these and let me know what you think!

Damn, they did some classic records.
-
yeah they did

Can't fade on that, props for bringing it up.I thought you was gonna post Ginuwine's "tell Me Do You Wanna" (INCREDIBLE song) but it prob doesn't have a video. And fuck what everybody says about Missy, her first two albums were the shit (yeah, mostly because of "the common denominator" as you called him :), but Missy sounded dope to me), the second palyed a major role in getting me into hip-hop.I stopped checking for her after that tho.And thatnks for opening my eyes to "Up Jumps Tha Boogie" cuz I thought the remix was better. They both great
Props again for a very good thread

Yeah it's crazy how good they were. If Aaliyah were still alive she'd be an elite chick in the game. I've always thought Tim's beats were never quite the same after she died. That Missy joint "Sock It To Me" was sooooo damn sick back in the day. I remember I bought the cd single and bumped the hell out of it.
Tim really had a knack for R&B, but I always liked the shit he dropped with Maginoo.
