Was it really neccesary to put out another album where these cats glorify banging and throw up their sets? The joints I heard above are OK, but come on now...it was already done more than 10 years ago with the "Bangin On Wax" compilations as well as the "Nationwide Rip Ridaz" and "Damu Ridaz" albums.
-
^^ well there differant.. it may seem like the same thing.. but Bangin On Wax was to take out the hate on record rather than in the streets.. Rep Yo Set is more like for the members to get each their message out

The web site says the same shit...bout them coming together and turning negative energy into positive energy. Yet they still got nothing to do but rep their sets and send out threats to their rivals.
The only thing that seems different to me (aside from the updated production) is the fact that each track consists of members from a different hood (Nutty Blocc, Avalon 88, Crenshaw Mob, etc.) throwing it up on that specific track. "Bangin On Wax" was more generalized Crip-on-Blood shit, not so set-specific (tho you did hear those cats saying where they were from).

It's really no different than Snoop reppin' Rollin' 20's in song's and Game reppin' Bloods. Or even other rappers reppin' labels in songs like G-Unit, Dipset, Rocafella, or Aftermath.

That doesn't make it right. And at least those cats have a wider range of subject matter in comparison (by gangsta rap standards).

Like what, rapping about cars, money, chains, and houses.

That right there is at least a wider range of topics than simply shouting "N-Hood Ridah, cuzz!" or "Lynwood Piru, dog!" ad nauseum. Glorifying gangbanging like that is really irresponsible.
