Paul Robinson was left embarrassed as England crashed to a dismal defeat against Croatia in the Euro 2008 qualifier in Zagreb.
Eduardo's header had given Croatia a deserved 61st minute lead before keeper Robinson was involved in a nightmare moment eight minutes later.
Gary Neville's back-pass struck a divot as Robinson went to clear, and he watched in agony as the ball rolled in.
Robinson had previously produced a string of saves to keep Croatia at bay.
England coach Steve McClaren's tactical re-shuffle to a 3-5-2 formation was brutally exposed as England barely mounted an attack worthy of the name.
And on the back of a poor performance in the goalless draw against Macedonia at Old Trafford, it left McClaren's supposedly brave new era looking distinctly underwhelming.

McClaren has alot of work to do!!

England have one of the easiest groups (if not the easiest) of all.

They really have to qualify.

You put out a team with 8 defensive players in and only 3 forward players then we were bound to lose. When u look at the fact that two of the forward players r out of form, Rooney and Lampard and the fact that Crouch's whole game is based on service its even worse. You then look at the rest of the team and there wasnt one single player who can cross the ball or a player who can dribble with it. Then there is also the fact that in r hardest qualification game mcclaren decides to play 3-5-2 a formation we havent used for years and a formation that none of the players use at there club.

McClaren was Svens right hand wanker for 5+ years so blatantly had a lot of say in how the team was set up & motivated during Svens era. So I dont see this new era being any different. Our performances this week have been abysmal against both Macedonia & Croatia. Before you know it the media will hype up a crisis and McClaren will go back on himself and recall Beckham
