Post by: Now_Im_Not_Banned on October 12, 2006, 12:00:42 PM
It doesn't mean you're cool if you make 30 threads in a row with 0 replies. You're flooding the front page, some of the shit you post can be crammed into one topic. I know you're trying, but Lakers still own this section. 8)...PeACe

lol funny stuff.

Now_I_Know has got 10 topics on the front page and mac 10 has 9 topics and 1 sticky topic on the front page.

Looks like a little battle is brewing, lets keep it peaceful .

An average thread of mine actually gets posts...Look at how many threads with 0 posts in them he has, and then most of the rest have like 1 or 2 replies, 3-4 max in the rare ones...He should just open one big soccer thread instead of flooding the front page with shit that most people (provenly) don't care about...I keep a lot of the Laker shit in the Laker thread, despite the fact that I can open a new thread for every article, I choose not to clutter the front page...Just look at the difference...PeACe

According to your theory, these threads get 0 replies. So they will be outta here in a day/2 days.

Are you so impatient you can't wait that long?

No, I just think it would be more efficient to open a misc. soccer thread for shit the majority of people don't care about.

It's a Sports section, not a Kobe section, not a Lakers section but a Sports section.  Get used to it.

At least if an average thread of yours got a reply, you'd have an argument...As of now, you don't. I'm not saying not to make soccer threads, just not for every little insignificant thing, especially when you see it isn't even important enough to get a reply even from soccer fans. That's what we have "Official _______" threads stickyed at the top for ::)...PeACe

Well not including the sticky football goals request thread I have 9 other threads on page 1, 5 of which have at least 1 reply.

5/9 = 0.555 so on average more threads will get a reply than won't.

I'd have to double check but I'm sure that means an average thread of mine does in fact get a reply.

Strange, coz you've just said the opposite and you're hardly ever wrong right? ;)

I never said the opposite, I said your threads usually get 0 or minimal replies, which is 100% true...Is it really so hard to open one thread to keep at the top for insignificant soccer updates?

At least if an average thread of yours got a reply, you'd have an argument

i.e. an average thread of mine doesn't get a reply

Whereas I just proved the opposite.

That wasn't my main point though, my main point was that your threads usually get zero to little replies and take up space on the front page, when you can just as easily put it in one "soccer update" thread. Get it yet?

Nice back-track attempt but you didn't quite pull it off.

I don't care what your "main point" was.

THE point is, you said something then I went and showed that the opposite of that was true.

Well I'm with u both.....now_i_know has point that all the threads could be in one big thread so u can always watch there for some news and shit...but I don't mind personaly if they aren't, I can just scroll down or go to the next page to see the news, no big deal....and those football news that mac brings to us are, to me, interesting and I read them all and I could reply to them but I don't see the point in replying if I don't have anything else to say than, for example, "thanks for posting" or "interesting" etc.

Are you dumb? You're picking at something that really has very little to do with what were "debating". I don't care if on average your threads DO get replies. It was an exaggeration smart guy... the fact that I wasn't far off should tell you that a good portion of your topics aren't really topic-worthy...The end.

That is a statement, it could be either right or wrong.

Sadly for you, it was the latter.  :(

Had you said "Your threads never get any replies."  THAT would be an exaggeration.  There is a difference.

Of course there is no way I can prove in what kind of tone you said it and what you meant by it.

And whatever I say, of course you can argue the exact opposite.

But I know what you meant and you know what you meant, it's there to be seen.

If you wanna try and squirm out of it on a technicality because it's something that can't be proven either way, be my guest.

It won't change the fact that you were wrong.

I didn't really believe an average thread of yours got 0 replies, I didn't actually sit down to do the math, if you're too stupid to see that, then I'm sorry for you...You're the idiot who admittedly squirmed out of the argument by picking at something small and avoiding the main point. :-*

Thanks for licking my cock, but this thread has made perfect sense. The point was to minimize flooding the front page, understand? My threads get replies because they're topic-worthy (mostly), and people usually have input to add when I open a topic. No need to get your panties wet over it...PeACe

Okay, look at how many threads I have that actually get replies (and pages of replies at that) as opposed to you. How do you even dare compare? At least the shit I posted wasn't just some gay news update, it was an interview that the average NBA fan would be interested in reading...And why do you think I said my threads are MOSTLY topic-worthy? Because every once in a while I'll post something that I thought would be interesting but doesn't really gain much interest once I've posted it...Still not even close to comparable to what you do...PeACe

I was addressing Mac 10 as well as this section, because this is the section that's being flooded with his news updates that should be merged into one thread. I had a pretty valid reason to open a thread, that way everyone can voice their concern (if they have one)...Too bad YOU'RE too busy sucking nutsacks to realize this...PeACe

why dont you make a sticky football thread where people can post random football newsm instead of ''flooding'' the main page.
