Tray Dee (a now devoted Muslim) mentioned his future plans to use the word "nephew" in place of the word "nigga" in recent interviews. Snoop endorses Tray Dee's recent change in vocab, and there's a clip about it in the new Rolling Stone mag... to no suprise however, the writer pretentiously goes on to make a joke about Snoops recent self-improvement and maturity..... This is bullshit....Snoop's trying to raise the awareness of his people and the columnist makes a joke about it.... This is a perfect example of the arrogance and ignorance, copiously permeating synonimously with anything mainstream.

The word 'nigga' has been desensitized by all these rappers makin music for white kids, i was in a shop the other day and some skinny ass white kid says 'Bare Niggas up in Hoxton, Niggas gettin chased' to his white ass friend, if i was black id be offended.

I have to agree with you there. People nowadays think being real is being a gangsta, being in the streets... but to me it's being true to yourself... Snoop was hardcore and all... but when he left the hood, deathrow, and the gangsta image, people started claiming he wasn't "real" anymore. They believe he isn't "real" anymore because he was a gangsta and now he's not... people change. Everyone changes and Snoop has changed for the better. Using words like "nephew" and "chutch" ... he's trying to bring a negative back to a positive... I remember reading in his book... about how back in the 1970's... his neighborhood was the best looking hood in Long Beach... it was beautiful, green grass, nice families, but then in the 80's it started crumbling down and the "ghetto" was born from it.... I see him trying to bring that back almost... what once was good, is now bad, and Snoop is doing his best to bring his people back to the good.

I respect ANYONE who wants to "raise awareness", and IF Snoop goes on to practice what he has been quoted as saying, he deserves respect for that. Of course people can change. I just thought it funny that someone like Snoop, who along with many others has made their riches off lines like;

is suddenly gonna enlighten people.
