Title: New PC: Whats the best multi player shooter game out these days?

just built myself a decent pc now i wanna get a game to test it but which one?

if your interested my new box now contains:
asus p5ld2 mother board
intel 2.8 ghz dual core cpu
2 x 512 meg ddr2 dual channel ram
4 x 250 gig hdds setup in raid 1
512 meg saphire x1300 graphics card

it was a bitch to setup and get going, especially as it was the first time i tried to build a pc, but its all good now

ive been deconnected of that world since i bought my laptop in 2001, but back then i was really aware of what was going on in the shooter universe. I dont know shit about shooters these days, last cool video i saw was quake wars. I thinks splinter cell 3 really have a good multiplayer though

Battlefield 2.
At least until Battlefield 2142 comes out, which is in a few days.

Counterstrike source is dope from what ive heard.
