Title: Various things about Deathrow's Greatest Hits Vol. 1
Post by: acgrundy on October 16, 2006, 08:52:55 PM
So I been listening to this lately, and I gotta say

J Flexx - Who Been There, Who Done That

That song is fuckin sick.  Too bad J Flexx never released an album and pretty much fell off the face of the earth.

The remixes on this album...Who in the fuck was in charge of that shit?  The remixes are god awful horrible.  Especially since Deathrow was like the king of doing sick ass remixes.

those remixes are the highlights in my opinion

wow, those are possibly the worst remixes ever done.  Turning classic songs, some of the best songs ever made, into something that is unlistenable is not easy to do, and usually only people like Afeni Shakur have skills like that

loved this double disc, the remixes I thought were cool, Let me ride was all jazz'd up, and Lil ghetto boy sounded sick....

I like how in that j flexx song you heard the melodies to "aint no fun" etc

lil getto boy is one of the best remixes i have ever heard
let me ride and gin & guice are tight
g thang is ok...gives the song a different feeling
whats my name is the weakest mix on the album

lol at that jerk J-Flexx, man, he should be glad that he wrote some shit for the legend, but nah he's making diss songs now
and then he wonders why he ain't got no rap deal, you know, they call it ghostwriting for a reason (plus if you check credits for keep thier heads ringing you will see that he was credited so i dunno what this j-flex fool talking about)

The remixes were alright, Gin & Juice and What's My Name were tight IMO. I remember playing Me In Your World to death but the album could have done without No Vaseline (Who Been There, Who Done That was enough) and all of the pre-Death Row Pac tracks...

The "Gin and Juice" remix sucked, but the others were hot, I dunno what everyone's hating on.  The remix to "Nuthin' but a G thang" and "What'z my name" were the best.

Did I say he was wack? No, I just said that he's idiot. And I bet he didn't have any problem with Dre and dissed him just cause his gangsta ass boss told him to do it.  :P

It's been a minute since I've listened to that album, but I remember thinking that Let Me Ride remix was the absolute shit when it came out. The rest of the remixes I could do without, but that was the joint for me.
