Game is going to start calling himself Negrodamus if this keeps up. ;D
-
I guess 150 is cool for any regular artist, but since its G-Unit people call it a flop.
But it is a decline though, his last album did 433k the first week.
-
The music industry as a whole is down, but Game act like that shit can't happen to him. That Banks album is a good album.
-
man if game sold 1 copy more than banks he gonna drop atleast a whole mistape braggin about it and dissin g unit
hope that happens though lol
-
Oh man if he lands the number 1 album he will crown himself king of the world. If he hasn't already. But the numbers are way down for album sales.
-
the numbers are way down for album sales.
-
I wonder what G-Unit's excuse is gonna be?
-
Didn't finish listening to the album, but it's okay. I don't see the replay value in it though. As for his sales, none of the singles had the impact like any of the ones of his first album, so what do you expect? Hopefully Buck can infuse some life into G-Unit.
-
Now watch it plummet below the Top 25 next week.
-
Ok so yall are saying a G-Unit artist that doesn't land at #1 flops huh. If it wasn't for every gothic bitch in the usa buying Evanescence and the middle aged white people buying Rod Stewart he wouldve landed #1 and beat everyone by a long shot and you know it
-
Well look the facts are the american economy despite what the official news keeps pretending is sinking into the depths of the toilet and that is why no one is buying albums. You mentioned evanescence you are very wrong in your assertions the fact is over 13 million people purchased their last album and it went far beyond a core of just so called gothic lovers, the reality is that evanescence and lloyd banks would have been selling much much more than this were it not for the obvious lack of disposable income.

Where it lands is relevent to wether it flops or not. Straight Outta Cashville landed at #3 and it didn't flop. It's the sales that matter. And your arguement holds no weight at all. You're basically saying if more people bought his album then he would of sold more. <---Duh! His best single for the album peaked at #79. You think that may have also had something to do with it?
-
cuz hes too gangsta for radio

LOL, remember when Yayo didn't push the numbers that they thought and they blamed it on Kanye? Now this homo is doing it :camp:
-
Kanye isnt a real artist though. He already admitted he don't write or produce his songs
-
Lol Yayo's album crashed so damn quickly, i really can not stand these groupies give me a break he didnt sell end of, you do not need to defend him you are not his bodyguard you are a fan of his music but don't make excuses for his sales.
-
im not making excuses i didn't even mention Yayo once im just statin the facts

You fucked up. I think you meant disposable music. And yeah the American economy is doing fucking terrible. So bad that the Dow Jones has reached all time highs the last few days. But I'm sure the DJIA doesn't really exist. Probably something the US govt cooked up to justify a war or something :tosser:
-
Kanye isnt a real artist though. He already admitted he don't write or produce his songs
what about Rod Stewart nigga? hahahahahaha
-
Oh man you are trying to attack me on something you have absolutely no idea about listen you dumb idiot the money supply has doubled in the last 5 years so your dollars are basically worthless. That is why the dow jones is seeing an exponential rise read you retard instead of throwing out juvenile insults.
-

Shouldn't you be watching loose change?
Again, this album didn't sell cuz people are tired of wack bullshit. I make 3x the $$ I was making 2 years ago and I've only bought like 5 albums in that time. Keep your political bullshit in Tot.
-
I have watched loose change, this is a good time to start reading and actually come back with retorts that have some substance instead of just denying and throwing out pathetic little jibes at me.

I wasnt intending to turn it into a political discussion but when you see that evanescence arent selling either despite their album being one of the biggest selling albums of the last decade, then I think it must have something to do with the economy but yeah besides anything further than that it wasnt intended to be political and i dont intend to start now. I could be proved wrong with evanescence and they might stay in the top ten for a long time but rappers albums arent holding up in the top ten for very long. Kind of a site note but i think Lupe is the biggest example of that, i can't believe his album has sold so poorly after all of the publications he was in and all of the publicity he got on tv the internet, everywhere.

NIGGA PLEASE!!! You're throwing out blatant subliminals... Re-read this shit:
Well look the facts are the american economy despite what the official news keeps pretending is sinking into the depths of the toilet and that is why no one is buying albums.
2006 ain't really sold shit for records so far, but thats because it's been a bunch of bullshit. In 05 you had Mariah Carey going 5x plat, 50 went 5x plat, Kanye & Eminem went multi plat. You attempted to take a quasi veiled dig at the US and your arguement has no base.
I took 4 shits today. I haven't done that since like 1989. I'm telling you, it must be those goddamn crooked American politicians and media driving me to do this.
-
Yawn your mentioning politics once again I am not throwing out subliminals, fine I will not mention anything other than the music as long as you do the same.
-

well don't talk about it, be about it. Counter my arguement on the record sales.
-
First of all you got to get this out of your head I have nothing against american people and nothing against the country itself. I agree there has been a bunch of bs but then again when big bands like evanescence arent selling that much either it suggests that its a trend that is going to be here to stay. Only really broken by the biggest acts like the eminems possibly the jay-z's etc.
-

On point.
-
Its also fair to say that in the case of lloyd banks that the hype of G-unit has really floundered now. and probably the success of the last album was built on the hype that g unit did have.
-

I honestly couldn't give a shit if you like America or not. I was just annoyed at you bringing that lame rhetoric in here.
Back to the matter...
Well wait, so the floundering US economy either dictates record sales or it doesn't. You state that it does but then admit that quality or perceived quality trumps it. So that right there should tell you that quality music is an ELASTIC good ie that regardless of the economy it can perform and even sell quite well.
-

If if's and but's were candy and nuts we'd all have a marry christmas.
-
Kanye isnt a real artist though. He already admitted he don't write or produce his songs
WTF are u talking about man??? Regardless of whether Kanye writes ALL his rhymes or produces ALL his beats, it's safe to say Kanye is more involved in all aspects of his music then any other artist in the game today. He is a COMPLETE artist, all banks does is spit some punchlines over some tracks he got emailed, and then have 50 jump on the hook for the lead single.
-
Lloyd Banks has an album out?

LOL BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
The music industry as a whole is down, but Game act like that shit can't happen to him. That Banks album is a good album.
imo the new banks is wack as fuck...but its not suprising due to all the shitty music they've been releasing nowdays...game really did damage gunit with that gunot shit...
-
Lloyd Banks has an album out?
Lol yep... without buzz or a hit single, 150 k ain't that bad by today's standards... (though it's a flop for G Unit)
-
Banks didnt get promoted at all, 50s too busy promoting Hot Rod, who drops in January :-X
Normal sales for a rap srtist this year, its sad that he created a better album but sold less.
-
The album's pretty horrible. And I only paid £4 for a bootleg on the corner.
-
Rod Stewart still got that heat rock.
Rod Stewart > > > > Lloyd Banks. The numbers dont lie.
:D
*Bumps Maggie May*
-
Game is going to start calling himself Negrodamus if this keeps up. ;D
yeah, until he comes out and sells less than banks.
and BTW, pointing and clicking a link is so much easier than taking money out of my check and spending $15 for something ill only listen to for a month if that. Im sure Im not the only one who feels this way and THAT and that alone is the reason for low record sales.
-
its sad that he created a better album but sold less.
"Rotten Apple" is definitely NOT better than "The Hunger For More". Not worse necesarily, but there's nothing memorable about it cause it's formulaic and trite at this point.
-
i only checked the 9th wonder produced track.. i'm just glad 9th didnt give Banks a hot beat
-
1. The economy has nothing to do with LLoyd Bank's album sales. If people want it, they going to buy it, just like they bought the other albums.
2. Lloyd Banks is selling off of his own name now. G-Unit doesn't necessarily gurantee you platinum. Believe it or not, Game hurt G-Unit's rep.. but indirectly.. G-Unit has been a cross mixture of 'hardcore' and 'pop'... When Game left and dissed the hell out of them, they didn't respond quickly enough.. I don't think they people feel them as 'hardcore' anymore and they aint pop enough to compete with Justin, Nelly, Janet, Christina etc. In other words, they don't got the same stans anymore.. Banks album has to be near perfect lyrically and musically to even match what he did last time. unfortunately it isn't.. even though his album is still better than most music out right now..
-
"ROTTEN APPLE" IS THE BEST ALBUM THAT CAME OUT THIS YEAR ONCE AGAIN ITS THE YEAR OF G-UNIT WAIT TILL YOUNG BUCK AKA BUCK MARLEYS ALBUM IS OUT G-UNIT OWNS THE INDUSTRY REAL TALK 1
-
i aint hating on banks, but that album was wack as fuck. i tried listenin to da whole album hopin that its gonna get better, but its the same boring ass flow throughout the whole album. banks flopped, g-unit is dead
the game - doctor's advocate in stores november 14 <<<<< im coppin that
-
LOL @ the unit groupies bringin up Game let it go Lloyd Piggy Banks was bound to not do good numbers the Unit doesnt have the same appeal it once did 50 Just need to drop his own album cuz you know he's losin money with these releases that aint doin well.
-
150,000 in the first week aint that bad lol. sales are down as a whole I dont think Banks really flopped here.
-
LOL @ ppl sayin banks had bad promotion...every dude says that....the truth is lloyd banks aint as popular as he was 2 years ago....same w/ g-unit....hell the same w/ the eastcoast.....
