It's just the 1st game but being clowned like that after receiving the rings, it's pretty lame; where was "the heart of the champion " ??

Man this was a great opening night. The Heat lost & the Lakers won. What more could you ask for? Tomorrow the Cavs play the Wizards, that should be a great game too. I'm out ya'll.

LMFAO!!!!! Ridiculous, but it's just what I've been saying all along!...Heat are the worst champions ever and Lakers are EXTREMELY underestimated. I always turn up right...Pathetic opening night by your "world champions"... ::)

You guys are funny. Its one loss!
Did you forget the Heat were 52-30 last year? Shaq half asses the season WE ALL KNOW THIS! Lets see how they play when the playoffs come around. Then you can call the Heat "The worst NBA CHAMPS EVER"

Man it's not really just "one loss!" It's a 42 points loss, damn!!! And they've lost to a team who might reach the Eastern Conference Finals. I know it's just 1 game, but it can destroy the team if they don't get their minds right.

Dude, everyone knows opening night is important, it's not like Pat Riley didn't have his team prepared to play. LOL@the excuses, the truth is that Shaq is just an old fatass who is currently half as good as Bynum. Come on, dude, we all know Shaq "half-asses" most of his games in the season (too many cheeseburgers to keep up), but when was he ever a 7 point, 5 rebound, 3 turnover player with the Lakers? NEVER...Heat weren't even a top 5 team last year. WORST. CHAMPIONS. EVER. :-X

Uhh they actually won the championship so that means they were number 1

I know they won the championship, that's my point, they were the worst team to ever win a title IMO... not even top 5 material.

If I was Riley I wouldn't try to keep Shaq in the starting 5 until he retires. I'd put him in in the 4th quarter, when he can come in fresh and all other players are already rather tired. Keepin him in throughout the game is nonsense.

Something like that, and for a whole lot of money. That is why we traded him, cus he wasn't goin to take a pay cut and wanted a long contract.

Including this season he is signed for 4 more years (through 2009-10) and will be making $20 million dollars a year.

LMAO. Thank GOD we traded Shaq...We got Odom, Kwame, Bynum, Farmar, Proftit + millions and millions in luxury tax savings from it...Now it's looking like one of the more lopsided trades in NBA history to the Lakers' advantage...Not what the media originally told us though. ::)

Well, it's not like Miami didnt get what they wanted out of that trade tho. They wanted their first fucking championship, and they got it. Let's not pretend their franchise would have seriously contended anytime soon without that trade. Without Shaq, no Payton, no Walker, prolly no Mourning etc...

Dude, they killed their whole future...They were already close to contending in WADE'S ROOKIE SEASON! Imagine if they woulda' kept Lamar, Butler, and all...They'd have a WAY better nucleus right now and they'd be a better team today.

Yeah, but they ditched there building for the future philosophy and decided to take Shaq and focus on right now. It made sence at the time too. They should of seen this coming.

I agree with both of you. They did get what they wanted, but like NIK said thier future doesn't look as bright as it could have. They had Lamar who was playing great ball in Miami. They had Butler who's a good player, E Jones was there and still would be if Shaq did get him traded. So the Heat would have contended either way.

They are SOOOOOOO lucky the refs helped them win the title last season, all that does is clouds peoples judgement on what a terrible trade it actually was...If they woulda' lost, like they were supposed to, Shaq's and Pat Riley's legacy would have been deservingly tainted.

Don't worry. When the Lakers win it all this year (Rik knows what's up) people will question who got the better of the trade. ;D

LOL, you guys are fucking pathetic.  Yeah it was a horrible trade, what with the championship and everything.  You fucks would rather see Shaq lose than the Lakers win.  Yall are like some bitches that got skeeted on, and then dissed, and all you do is talk to your little bitch friends about what an asshole the guy was now that he's on skeetin on some finer pussy than what you're left with!

Be happy with your Lakers.  If you hate Shaq so bad then why waste all your time posting about him?  You guys are fuckin obsessed thats why.

BTW, NIK - Bill Simmons had some flattering things to say about your boy Farmar:

You can pencil the following 25-and-under players as starters or solid rotation guys at the very least: Chris Paul; Shaun Livingston; Rajon Rondo and Bassy Telfair; T.J. Ford and Jose Calderon; Ray Felton; Deron Williams; Jarrett Jack; Tony Parker (you forget, he's only 24); Mo Williams and Leandro Barbosa (two hybrid guards, but whatever); Devin Harris; Jameer Nelson; Kirk Hinrich; Vassilis Spanoulis; Luke Ridnour; Marcus Williams (yes, the Laptop Guy); and possibly, Jordan Farmar (let's throw him in here because he'll be stealing Smush Parker's job before Christmas). That's a whopping 19 young point guards who look exceedingly competent -- at worst -- heading into the upcoming season.

Do you still think he doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about?
