Don't know how credible Soundslam is but it makes sense:
The Game has the industry's eyes as his follow-up album's release date is approaching. Unfortunately, the fans are now able to look a little bit closer than expected.
Jayceon "Game" Taylor has continually kept his name in industry circles over the last eighteen months with a variety of newsworthy material, and yet again it fails to be a positive look for the rapper. Entitled The Doctor's Advocate, The Game's sophomore LP has recently been leaked in full over the internet, a move that has damaged the sales of many artist's projects in recent years.
With household access to the internet commonplace, music fans have easier avenues to obtain music for free, and earlier, than the pre-computer explosion era. The Doctor's Advocate is scheduled for release on Black Wall Street in conjunction with Geffen Records come next Tuesday (November 7th). It remains to be seen if the album leakage will, in fact, damage his ability to move units. The LA rapper's debut album, The Documentary, sold nearly 600,000 copies its first week, and reached platinum status in short time.
The Game is also seeking talented female dancers and qualified emcees for features. As previously reported by SoundSlam, he has linked up with Bix.com in light of a Video Girl contest where females can create and upload footage of them dancing. One lucky winner will be chosen for an upcoming video off of The Doctor's Advocate.

I think this date will stick. Unless the record company can find some way to express ship the copies to everyone waiting another 4-5 days is not going to hurt that much. I used to work in a music store and we would get shipments of albums 3-4 days early, but we could not put it out until the street date. That would be the only way they would move it up again is if a retailer with a major company broke the street date.

I wondered the same thing. I asked when I worked at the Wherehouse and I never got a answer. I know the major releases drop on Tuesday and alot of the underground albums or indie albums usually come into stores on Thursdays.

My guess is so they have the maximum about of days to sell in it's first week because Monday is the cut off day to count/determine sales.

Makes sense. That has got to be the reason. I remember when Eminem Show came out. The street dates was broken on a Sunday, so we had to sell it on Sunday. So when Billboard came out for the next week, He got a sales count for 5 days instead of the full week and he still sold over a mil. That is a extreme example but Game would really get his numbers fucked up if he drops it any other day. Could cut his sales in half.

I think Game will still sell well. With all the buzz on the internet about his album he should have a good first week's sell. It would help if they promoted his album more. Besides info on the internet I haven't heard or seen anything about this album in other advertising.

he should make one new track, replace it with a wack one(swizz beat one)...and then say "the album you downloaded on the internet is different from the one in retail." or is that stupid(for Games perspective)?

Yeah, that was why I said take it for what it is worth. I don't know how credible soundslam is, apparently it's not ;D. Mods can delete this thread.
