If say a well known producer like Dr. Dre or Dj Quik or Timberland released a intrumental album will all new beats would you buy it? I'm not talking about stuff like Quik's Trauma Intrumentals or Dre's 2001 Intrumental album. I'm talking about all new stuff that no one has rapped or sung over before. No rappers or singers, just beats.

not me...maybe if it was a rock album
hiphop instrumentals are too repetitive
-
Yep I would.. The Instrumental version of Jazzy Jeff's album is so fucking nice
-
not really..i rather see rappers just get a regular full time job...
-
why would any producers waste hot beats without rapping?

More people pay attention to beats rather than rapping nowadays.
-
i wouldnt.
-
I definitely would. Hell, I own a number of intrumental hip hop albums by the likes of Rjd2, Blockhead, and a copy of The Foreign Exchange 'Connected' instrumentals. There are those times when I really don't want to hear someone rapping and want to appreciate the production for what it is.
-
i would...most definately
-
thats a good idea.
i would too
-
id cop it
an album full of beats like illmatic would be fire
-
Yes, definitely. I am a huge fan of instrumentals.
-
Maybe. Although without rapping, to me, just a beat is boring after a few moments.
-
I would. An instrumental doesn't need rapping if it's done like a Quik's groove.

I don't. Lyrics are important to me.
-
no high end producer in their right mind would do that.
-
hell yeah I would. It's not that far fetched either. There's lots of instrumental Jazz albums. Look at the last Burt Bacharach album, that had some hip-hop ish beats on it.

Dre did the bass and drum loops on that.
-
If DJ Quik put one out, then yes.

I agree, if it's a quik's groove type songs it would be tight. If it's your typical 2 bars or 4 bars repeat type thing, it might get old after a while.

i dont think it would be cost worthy to the producer/lable....whos going to buy these albums? lets say they sell 100K (and thats being very generous).
they could probably sell a fraction of the tracks for more money than they would make off of relesing an entire instrumental album....
but at the same time, i could see an up and coming producer doing this, whos just trying to get his name out and isnt really looking for the money, yet.
but still, i wouldnt BUY one. ;)

if i feel all the beats yes, i would rap over it
