so the albums been out over a year now.. what do you all still think of it?
i think the albums gotten better with age, and when you pissed at the world it's a great album to play, start to finish. no tracks worth skipping.
cant wait for quiks next album, although i hope he goes back to havin fun, i'd prefer another rhythmalism over another trauma, but let's see what happens with his next release...
i heard he's goin back to the mpc 3000?
-
Trauma is/was a fucking great album. Musically magnificient.
I heard the next release will be an album with AMG.
-
^that would be dope, quik and amg flippin verses is always dope, i hope hi-c and free are on the project too... not to mention the rest of the crew 220, playa hamm, el debarge!
-
I agree, the album got better the more I listened to it. There are two songs I skip("Fandango", "Get Down"(which used to be my favorite), but other than that, this album's great. Some people were saying this was his worst record, but I just don't see it. UTI was easily worse than this, IMO.
-
classic album
-
Quik doesn't have a bad record in his collection - each album has a unique sound and it just depends which one you feeling at the time.

fandango really grew on me, b-real comes off dope... i think it was a bad move by quik making it the first single though... the track on it's own sounds very dreish, so it put alot of people off, especially because quik is renowned for his originality...

Classic record for most complete artist ih Hip Hop.
-
lyrics and beats were on poin
the ladys n thugs beat is :o
only song that i did not enjoy that much were the one with chingy ...
-
Listen to the live version of "Get Up" :o
-
QUIK is way underrated.beats are sick, flow is tight, delivery is good, overall still one of my faveorites.glad hes out so he can work on some more music!!!!!!!
-
I'd say classic already, his 2nd best album after safe+sound for me
"growing up well ike a good wine" potential: yes
good replay value:yes
2 ingredients to make a classic album
-
Damn ,it's been a year already? To me it sounds as fresh and hot as if it came out yesterday. Guess that's what you get with a dope ass album as this.
-
I tend to be a little bias when it comes to Quik, but this album is a classic. Production wise, lyric wise, and just overall quality is unmatched by any other artist out right now. Quik has a concept and keeps it through out the entire album (which is something he does all the time). I think the production is some of his best work. I really like how he remixed "Spur of the Moment." I listen to the entire album, but through the months I have played more songs than other, right now I play "Til Jesus Comes" the most. Cant get enought of this line "Niggaz call me dumb but I'm smarter than your momma/For lettin yo' daddy ejaculate in her and stickin her wit'cho drama/Cause you ain't nuttin but a skanky welfare case Livin in scum Bum-o-Rama
/A shelf full of antibiotics and narcotics/Dwellin in a house full of lazy psychotics/Pissin and shittin on theyself and you too stupid to help/Because you just a dumb nigga yourself." lol---tell me an artist with better lyrics and flow than that. And when you add some of the tracks form the Trauma mixtape like "The Maze, and "Total Auto" you have yourself a certified banger.

Hell yeah! The whole album's hot, but "Til' Jesus Comes" is my favorite song. I've been listening to it non-stop ever since it dropped.

Classic record for most complete artist ih MUSIC.

After a year, it's still a great album and huge improvement from "Under Tha Influence", which is easily his worst record to date...I don't think this album is a "classic" at least not after a year...maybe in about 5 years or so when people are able to go bacc and "re-discover" it and still get that same feeling they had when it was first released. That "Intro for Roger" tracc off the album and "Total Auto" tracc off the mixtape only shows Quik improves over time, rather then recycling the same beats like other producers.
-
One word CLASSIC
-
CLASSIC album indeed...this and rhythim-al-ism are myfavorite quik albums...
-
Classic
-
overated
-
i really thought the hooks couldve been better on some songs,....get down especially, and that first track...roger something
-
^^
Whaaaat!? Get Down has a dope ass hook!
-
its been a while since ive listened to it. Not because it was a bad album but because i listened to it so much when it came out , i killed it.
-

the negative/depressed lyrical content of the record just really brings it down. Until Quik realizes that being the best rap producer doesnt necessarily mean big sales numbers he will continue to make angry records, mess up stuff and get himself locked up :-\
Still a damn near classic album though! Not a single bad track
-
to me it's his 3rd best album
-
one of the best albums to come out of the west in years but still not among Quik's best like Safe + Sound, Rythm-Al-Ism and Quik Is the Name.
-
I love Trauma, great album, one of the best of last year. It's my favorite Quik album behind Rhythmalism and Balance and Options.
Catch 22 is the shit.
-
I dont know but 1 person outside this forum that bangs this album I think its aigght but NO way a classic
-
its a classic westcoast album, had dope featured artists B-Real, Nate Dogg, T.I., Wyclef etc, tha beats were krazy, and lyrically he was at tha top of his game.
-
Between the beats on this album were really great!!!!!
Wasn't there a instrumental version????
-
i really liked the album..its notquiks best but it was dope..the track with nate was fire
-
^black mercedes goto be the best song on the album..
i really thought the hooks couldve been better on some songs,....get down especially, and that first track...roger something
i thought intro for roger had a dope hook, he had the life support happenin and all...
i agree with get down though, the hook is a lil much, quik could have done something better with it... good concept for the hook, just not good enough for a beat like get down...
-
I also agree that some of the hooks should've been better, but "Til' Jesus Comes" was perfect all the way through. Did I mention that I love this song?
-
A year later and it was one of my favorite albums out in 05 Alot of sick tracks on it. It did seem a little incomplete though. Maybe it was the lack of usual guests liek Suga Free, AMG, Hi-C, etc.
-
never heard it.
-
The track with him and Chingy is banga
-
never heard it.
you on crack boy, i dont expect you to be listenin to quik's tunes. ;D >:(
