Jay-Z is smiling on this LIFE magazine cover, as he should be, being a gridskipping millionaire and all.
How come we don't see rappers smiling on the cover of magazines?
Is it the rappers who demand to be shown only wearing a menacing frown, or is it the rap mags who are feeding us a limited scope of what Black men should look like?
(By the way, the guy behind Jay is not Ron Jeremy.)

MC Hammer was the last rapper that smiled and look how much grief he got.
Even though it looks silly for rappers to mean mug and try to look hard all the time, I don't blame them for doing so.
