If you have purchased an XBox 360 and have been waiting to purchase the HD-DVD drive - or are planning to get the PS3 for its bundled Blu Ray player - then here's hope at last. Broadcom has developed a chip that can read both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray discs and put everything on a single silicon chip acting as the OEM vendor for many multi format capability high definition players down the road.

It doesn't matter. Blu-ray players are made backwards combatible with DVD's, so they'll still work.
