apart from "Imagine" on snoop's new album the other 2 track was average.."round here" is nice but umm it sound too much like eminem's "stan" and "boss life is average"...i was expecting better production from dr.dre..is he holdin back the good beats from snoop and savin it for his album..im jus curious..timberland is doing a better work than dre right now.wtf is goin on?
-
All good things must come to an end, baby bubba.
-
To me it seems logical that he's holding back...
I mean the man is currently in the process of engineering the future sound of hiphop for the 21st century...just wait for Detox!

i wouldnt say all that now. i dont want every nigga to sound like Dre, ya dig? i mean, game does enough of that already.
-
I hope he's just holding back, cuz the beats I heard on the new Snoop and the new Jay-Z were pretty weak.
-
Slowing down (20+ years can do that) not falling off.
-
No man i bet Dr. Dre has many dope beats but it all falls down to the artist to pick witch beat he want
-
Dre made a rubbish record with Busta and now wants to make a record with wack ass Eve.
Stat Quo another rubbish rapper Dre is working with.
The only dope beat he dropped this year that you could really call a classic is the 'Outta Control' remix and instead of giving it to dope west coast niggas to perfect he handed it over to 50 who did a shoddy job with the raps.
The instrumental to that song is what i bump.
As for Dre's recent beats anyone who aint deaf knows how sloppy and patchy they sound.
-
I like the beats on blue carpet treatment, havent checked the ones on jay-z though
-
Hes probably holding back, but boss life is such a song that grows on you with time. Im feeling it more and more everytime i listen to it.

I felt that song faster than Imagine, best beat for me. I'm just starting to feel Imagine. I wasn't feeling the snippet at all and even the song when it get leaked. Maybe my expectation were too high, since the time they talk about how Imagine was crazy.

i really dont get why you dont see this new dre shit is bigger than ever. yes it sounds simple but its so effective. you could put it in the wackest cd player with no bass and it still sound cool.
the rapper is put in the center of the music again. lyrics flows and topics are more important than ever. hiphop is maturing. it went from its twenties to its thirties.
it really all started with bustas album an absolute classic. atleast 8 absolutely flawless tracks. very innovative. very mature. no childish bullshit just real talk and real music.
snoops record is nice he brought his flow back to the forefront. Killin every beat.
boss life is a superhit in potential.
round here is cinematic and with the right video it could be a hit also.
imagine is superhit.
jays record is the biggest of them all. maybe the best album in hiphop ever. thirty is the new twenty. what a topic. dres production just fits perfect. but the absolute top record is beach chair. the first time a rapper gets really philosophical without bullshittin.
trouble aint fake timbo. this is just usin european influences. like usin elektro, techno and rock. dre has already been doin this on bustas dont get carried away (and lets not forget about forgot about dre which is pure elektro). so far i like dres elektro techno beats better than timbo's. Timbo's are more rnb dres more gangster.
still im waitin for a really new westcoast gangsta sound. Dre is probably savin that for detox. i know he got that also in his pocket. Just listen to games album which are all songs that Dre passed for detox. JR EP storch these guys got that eightiespop mixed with westcoast sound. its just up to dre to perfectionize and darken it. which he probably allready did.
dre has become the producer in pop music right now. he can do east west south and european and he is breakin the barriers between all. for the next year if a hot beat is not his beat its probably one of his disciples (storch jr). offcourse theres also kanye just neptunes and timbo but there just fillin up the space. dre is still the leader. just take a peak at the man with best taste in beats ever; usin 5 dre productions.
now its up to us to actually buy these albums, instead of downloadin and dissin em. so mature hiphop will become a fruitfull market. Buy busta, buy jigga, buy snoop, buy nas.

I think its just that people miss that 2000 era of dr dre. Around when he made chronic 2001 and xzibits restless. People miss those type of party beats that were westcoast. His new beats have been still good but there slower which is why people think hes falling off. He isnt making that hit that your gonna see on tv anymore.
I think he should go back to that 200 era with those tight songs like all the ones on the chronic 2001 cd. That cd is the reason why hes still around. If he changes his sound again for detox, it has to be with some westcoast party tracks. Not tracks like the ones hes been making lately.
-
the ones on jay-z's album are fire!
-
That's what Dre exactly wants: people saying he's falling off and then shocking u with Detox...
-
Dre fell off long time ago..
what he makes 6 beats a year, mostly with a co-producer?
Bad Intentions was his last great beat.

that was Mahagony :P
-
Nah he ain't falling off, maybe yall aint used to his new style now but imagine and boss life are great tracks, and sound really good. Round here is also good but yer the samples been used before.
I don't see why he would waste all his best beats before detox and you know if he started releasing hot beats with the same style of detox everyone would start copying him and detox wouldnt sound that good.
But yall keep doubting dre cause thats when dre produces the goods, after nwa peeps doubted then the chronic was released. After deathrow peeps doubted but then 2001 was released. People doubting now but hopefully dre will prove them wrong.
And btw to say imagine is sloopy or shabby you must be a retard...

Dre has made so much classic shit, that makes you fools think he is falling off with his beats! You really think he is going to give every bitch a bad intentions beat!! C'mon dawg!! Shit dont connect!! He has to have average beats!! and even his average shit is better than a lot of these producers!! Fucken dre has beats for Blue carpet, kingdom come, nas shit, re-up, ha ha!!1 YOu want every fucker to get a "Next episode" Beat!! What about busta album!! Every fucken person could not stop talking about the "get You Some" Beat fool! Even just Blaze was on the nutz!! All the beats he did for busta were fire!! Everyone fit for every concept of the song!! I doubt he will ever fall off! The difference now is that his syle changed a little from what we are used too and he has way more artist and people that he works with than back in the day!!! He does a lot of beats for too many fuckers!! He will never!! Why is Jay-Z, NAs, Snoop, eminem asking for beatz from Dre!! I dont think he fell off!!
-
I dont think hes falling off with beats, but I dont get why he want to work with rappers like busta rhymes(lame) stat quo(lame) and Eve(lame), he should work with new west coast rappers or southern cali rappers.
-
I hate to say this: Dr. Dre is gone. He should just live his life with his wealth.
-
Damn some of yall act like Dre got one foot in the grave already. I think out of all the producers out there people anticipate and hype up a Dre beat more than anyone else. Of course he is going to have a couple you don't feel, but think for that HANDFUL you don't the crazy amount that you do. If you are not a fan then this aint for you but Dre aint going nowhere until he ready to go. Still making hits. Just a rough spot that's all. And his proteges are getting better also, adding their own sound to what Dre has taught them.

What you mean Dre ain't going nowhere. He's gone. I admit there's still few good tracks, but still, it wouldn't make Dre what he was back then. I haven't heard anything good from him lately. If ya a fan of him (me too), then it's all good, but I ain't feelin' him at all.

dre tracks have to grow on you, think of the firm think of aftermath, think of the first time you heard forgot about dre.
most people fiendin for club bangers, but dont realise that hiphop has to change. it cant be just club records anymore. hiphop is more than just party music. somethin the regular pop listener is not realizing.
hiphop is a voice for the oppressed and when the voice isn't speakin real words and instead is just clownin the voice wont be taken serious and will loose its power.
dre jay busta snoop and nas are tryin to save this voice right now. they put the meaning back in the song. they trie to reach a mature audience. the people that used to listen to them when they grew up but became adults now and they want to listen to mature music. the new dre beats are hits but with a message. lost ones will be the first example it will rock radios world wide. clubs have to lay low for a while they not priority anymore. offcourse in the end detox will be the complete album with at least two big club bangers but thats just trust in dre and the voice off hiphop.

-
i dunno if im buying the mature hip-hop argument..people are still making the kind of songs they always have...but back to dre...i dont think he's falling off...his latest beats are CRISP...crisper than anything that's come before...you can hear that in the snares and bass he's using...airing out the sound and hopefully on detox plugging this gap with all kinds of instruments to create something crazy ;D

I agree with that shit 100% Im wit you dawg!! I wish he would turn aftermath into an all westcoast based label!!! Dont get me wrong, Busta is sick and stat quo but i rather see westcoast artist by far!! Bishop, Game, Glasses and Crooked I should all be in aftermath!!

Mature hip-hop has been around for ages, Busta didn't start it. If you ask me, The Big Bang wasn't even that mature....Touch It sure as hell wasn't. One thing Busta and Jay have done, however, is help water it down.
You want a great "mature" hip-hop album that's recent? Listen to Common's "Be" or Cunninlynguist's "A Piece of Strange".

Jay-Z is overated!!! I give him his props n Shit, but what fucken height are you talking about!! He has never had shit on Biggie or Nas!! If biggie was still alive Gay-Z would not even exist!! Trust me dawg! I know a grip of people, I dont know one motherfucker, not one, that has a fucken jay-z album!! Nobody gives a fuck about jay-z!!! Nobody talks about that fool!! That fool is just known in NY!! He has never had the hype that Biggies Has had!! I see that bitch doing beer commercials!! Biggie and pac sold more than that fag with way less commercial help! The media helps out way more now than back in the day! Everybody has pac and everybody has Biggie albums!! Jay-z Style is wack, his rhymes are always of the fucken beat!! Ive heard some sick shit from him but a lot of wack shit!! Look homie!! You cannot get all the respect when you lose a battle that bad "Nas" - Ether!! Eminem basically made him look like a fucken lame on Renegades and Biggie died!! Plus that faget always claims to be the greatest rapper alive! That fucken ugly bastard should let the streets and the fans decide who is the king!! Anyone can say they the king! T.I., Snoop, Jay-z c'mon!!!
-
just wait til detox drops and everyone gets left overs...... be classic shit for a few years... lol like after 2001... :-)
-
dre aint fallin off boss's life is a nice beat and so is imagine, trouble on the kingdome come cd is hot shit and so is 30 something dre is saving all the west coast shit for detox and bishop lamonts cd dre still has it listen to Boss's life a couple of times its one of the best beats hes put out next to get you some. Watch dres beats on the re up will be sick, also get low was a banger too.
-
just bring out fucking detox already.
-
The beats on Big Bang, Blue carpet treatment and Kingdom come ara SUXXXXX,some avarage!!!... These were not we waiting for... But if Jay and Snoop gave money to Dre for these beats, what can Dre do??? I'm still waiting for DETOX and i have not big hopes for his beats on Re-up..
-
i ...i dont think he's falling off...his latest beats are CRISP...crisper than anything that's come before...you can hear that in the snares and bass he's using
yeah i agree with that, the first time i listened to the big bang the sound quality of dre's production was amazing.
-
Don't think he's falling off, but the few traccs he does manage to "mix" or "produce" more often then not doesn't warrant the long wait and the delay of peoples albums...Of course he is 'busy' working on this infamous project called "Detox" ::), which everyone knows is dropping by next summer ::)
-
I agree with the whole mature thing. More people hate new hip hop and rap more than ever. Leave the club shit to the south. Let the East and West bring out the quality.
-
Dre fall off? Not even close...
First you can't compare stuff to the old G-Funk days.. that was then, this is now...
Second, the guy is all about a high quality sound. It doesn't always have to be new and innovating, but there's the little things that Dre pays attention to that accents the song and makes it a listening pleasure. Like my boy Big Coke says "Its like listening in High Definition"... Imagine is a classic example. On the surface its a rather simple beat but the way it was done highlights whats being said by himself, Snoop and D'...
