Title: Is Game The New King Of Hip-Hop?
Post by: TraceOneInfinite on November 14, 2006, 10:09:39 AM
Eminem is pretty much retired.  And the last few G-Unit albums have flopped, which shows 50's credibility has greatly diminished.  So with those two out of the way, I think it's time to crown Game the new King of Hip-Hop.

He's now dropped 2 classic West Coast albums, and he's dropped dozens of mixtapes.  He's managed to keep his name in the streets; he's conquered his foes in his beefs, and more than anything else he's now proven he can do it without Dre!  Almost nobody has ever done that before, leave Dre and still stay on top.

Unless Jay-Z flops hard then Game will be on top for now.  But that's if Game's album does good.  Right now it's between him a Jay.

Game is  (with Jay back in business) without a doubt the rapper with the biggest buzz right now but King ? Naw... imo the king is the best... so Nas by a long shot

Yeah, but even with Jay-Z coming out of retirement he is still kind of out of the game. If Game does well, he could solidify himself as one of the big names in this hip-hop generation.

Still if Jay crushes him in sales it will hurt Game in a way.  Game will either have to tie or be better than Jay in sales.  But Game has a great chance of doing it.

If Game clearly outsells Jay-Z.

Could this (http://www.dubcnn.com/connect/index.php?topic=126349.0) be the reason for this thread?

Game is definitely not the king of the west.  He only has two albums.  He needs to build his resume in order to be considered a candidate for the title.

Theirs so many things wrong with this topic. First of all Game hasn't dropped 2 classic albums. Second, how do you define king of hiphop? Lyrical ability? Game is average at best. Flow? Not Game. Sales? Not even close.

How can you call Game king of hiphop when he isn't the best in any category? And comparing him to 50 is pretty sad. 50's sold 10x more albums, and succesfully released artists which have gone platinum and gold. When BWS artists sell 5 million albums, and Game does diamond then maybe he'll be king. Not that sales matter. Game isn't the King of the west, or hiphop. Stop making topics please.

I like Game's stuff a lot man, but he ain't the king of this shit, no way and no how. Let's see about it again after a few years of grindin' and staying at the major league of the rap game.

Besides, ain't no one king. There's the masters and the apprentices. But no fuckin GOAT or King or Emperor or whatever the fuck.

Jay i think might hurt the game's sells but then again a lot of people like Dipset and Game is down with them so they will buy that record over Jay's i dont know im listening to the record right now i cant imagine Jay-z record being better.

This question is like asking if Hasim Rahman was the heavyweight champ because Lennox Lewis retired.
