Since it's now pretty well know that the new Game cd is selling really well, and depending on who your source is, will open between 200k and 700k this week, does anyone think that The Game can go platinum before the year is over. Keep in mind that his cd has gotten rave reviews from various news outlets (NY Times said it was the best cd to be released this year), and that he's all over the fuckin' place these days.
Another thing to consider, only one rapper who dropped a cd after January 1, 2006 has sold more than 1 million copies in this calendar year (T.I. "King").

Duhhh

I think it's safe to say that he'll sell a million copies by the end of the year. We still have the holiday season approaching and a number of people are more than likely asking for the album for Christmas.

Barring any unexpected jumps, The Game is on pace to sell between 350,000 and 400,000 copies of his new album "Doctor's Advocate" during its first week in stores. This is far from The Game's much talked about 1 million units sold in one week.
"Doctor's Advocate" sold 150,000+ units during its first day in stores. These are speculative numbers and can be affected by sudden increased publicity or additional promotional pushes.
The Game will debut at #1 on next week's Billboard charts.

Based on first-day reports from those retailers still in business around this suddenly Blue State land of ours, the Compton rapper’s sophomore album will soar past 400k and could go as high as 450k, an easy #1. His last album, The Documentary, on G-Unit/Interscope, came out in January ’05 and sold almost 600k its first week on its way to double-platinum.
