Some of the production on Doctor's Advocate really sounds like Dre, and makes me wonder if he ghost produced some of it. Someone told me Dre is ghost producing under the name Nottz, anybody have any info about this?
-
i can name you tons of dre sounding beats homie... doesnt mean if it sounds like dre...it must be dre
-
Well, i can see some truth to that rumor now that you mention it. Snoop said that Dre made "Thats That Shit" a hit record, and that record is produced by Nottz. But maybe Dre just mixed it, we should ask whoever already got TBCT to check the booklet. But yeah, some of that shit on the Game's CD sounds a lot like Dre.
-
Nottz is actually a producer ::)
-
That rumour can easily be called bullshit since DJ Nottz has benn in the game for what, 10 years now
-
Man, half the dudes around my way that make beats copy Dre's style... that's like something that everyone does at least once is immitate Dre's style. Ain't much too it, but it's hard to get PERFECT.
-
well this may not be true but…
But seriously, this is from another board but not the first time I have heard a very similar story ... and funny enough, the similar story related to most of the tracks listed below ...
here is the post taken from another board.
Dr. Dre Co-Produced 6 tracks on Doctors Advocate
----------------------------------------------------------
Yes Dr. Dre co-produced six tracks off of Doctor's Advocate, real heads that know Dre's Production and who he works with can tell it's Dre beats, i talk to my folks out in So-Cal and word is out that Dre-Co Produced 6 songs.
1) At first Game put his name on the songs that was produced by Dre - but we all know that Game dont produce and if he does, no way he can copy Dre Songs, so then went it start leaking his name was taken off and Aftermath in-house producers and Producers who work with Dre and who's working on Detox (Nottz is the Co-producer, that's Dre) is on the album. So the Co-producers name is on the traccs instead of Produce by Dre & Co-produce (insert name)
Tracc 1) Lookin at you - Produced by Urban Pope EP (Produced Dr. Dre, Co Produced by Game) ORIGNALLY LISTED AS THE GAME
Tracc 2) Da **** - Produced by DJ Khalil "Aftermath in-house Producer" (Produced by Dr. Dre, Co-Produced by DJ Khalil) ORGINALLY LISTED AS THE GAME
TRACC 7) To Much - Produced by Scott Stroch (Produced by Dr. Dre, Co Produced by Scott Storch) Originally listed THE GAME
TRACC 10) One Night - *you know damn well that aint a Nottz production, even though he's been working with Dre on Detox, that's beat is striaght Dre, listen to the Drums and crips and clearness and vintage Dre Key boards* Produced by Nottz (Produced by Dre. Dre Co-Produced by Nottz) ORIGNALLY LISTED THE GAME
TRACC 13) California Vacation - PRODUCED by JR Rotem (Produced by Dr.Dre Co-Produced JR Rotem (that's Dre Syntheizers and Drums) ORIGNALLY LISTED THE GAME
TRACC 14) BANG - PRODUCED by Jelly Roll (Produced by Jelly Roll, Co-produced by Dr. Dre) ORIGNALLY LISTED THE GAME.
the co-producers name have to be on the album because they put in work, Dre dont care, he got paid. Dre still fukcs with the Game
-
Is it possible that cali vacation was the song dj semtex heard, with Snoop and Dre in its early days, when dr. dre dropped a verse on it... xzibit ended up replacing dre and his name was taken off the credits...???? Beat deff sounds Dreish
-
Lookin At You Does Sound Dreish. Fo Sho.
-
lol someone please make this stop
-
Nottz is actually a producer ::)
YEA I CHECK OUT HIS MYSPACE PAGE PEOPLE JUST DONT WANT TO COME TO GRIPS DRE HAD NOTHING DO WITH THIS ALBUM

man read that right there about nottz.
Dre didn't produce on Game's album
-
Nottz is actually a producer ::)
yeah this post is dumb
-
When Game left Aftermath, you had all these haters saying he wouldn't do shit without a Dre beat.
Now that it looks like he's going to have success with this album, people are trying to say Dre must have really been involved.
Shits getting mad ridiculous. Just admit that this is a dope album and move on people.

I donno...personally, it has elements of different Dre beats, but doesn't sound at all like something he'd make recently. He would never bring back that old school sounding synth, and the drum pattern to it doesn't sound much like what he has been doin lately. It does have all of his elements...but he never uses them in this way.
But damn, I do remember that DJ Semtex said that, and that's when everybody was debatin "Is Dre really on it?"
-
i guess it really comes down to how much pull DRE really has.... if u were a boss, would u really hide that shiet from your subbordinates? is he really THAT worried 'bout fif'?
i thought fif expressed that he had 1 more album to do with afermath and then he was out? and honestly, does he have to make anymore $$$$ IMO, dre don't have to hide from nobody, unless of course, it's jimmy iovine. but is jimmy gonna really give dre that much flack for doing that? Besides it's about time someone gave other westcoast beatmakers a chance... dre can't make beats forever, ever dre knows that someone's gonna have to take over the throne sooner or later.....
-
LOL @ this topic. Man next time simply type Nottz in google, damn. There are tons of interviews, pictures, even an interview done by Nima, he has a myspace account and you can even find all the tracks he produced, in a couple of those links.
-
after reading that post about what tracks were produced by Dre, its bullshit. Dre would neverp roduce "California Vacation" or "Bang" neither of those tracks sound like him AT ALL. The only one I was REALLY skeptical about was "One Night," and Lets Ride for that matter. The first time I heard that song, the first thing that came into my head was that it was ghost produced by Dre and he credited it to Storch.
-
I have a interview with Nottz and his picture in the august isue of scratch magazine.
I realy do think Dre produced sometracks on D.A tho.
On a website i saw a tracklist of D.a from september and a lot of song were produced by Dre on those songs are on the record now , one i remember is D.a so there is dre production in my opinion.
-
I just thought about somethin...
LMFAO that we are accusin Dre of Ghost producing.............
-
^ LOL NO SHIT LMAO

Just bought "The blue carpet treatment", Dre ain't credited at all on "That's that shit"!
-
Dre didn't do shit for Game. From what I heard he did 2 tracks for Game but Game didn't use them.
-
nah Nottz is a respected well known producer did alot of shit with Canibus and underground groups...doubt its Dre
-
I heard that Pac's got uncredited backing vocals on "Doctors Advocate" ;)
-
Who the fuck believes these dumbass rumors.
