well..check FEAR game. IF ya good on that..u definitely good on c.s. game.

Chances are ver high that your pc is not good enough for Fear but way too overpowered for CS.

I donīt like that site though. Did too much snooping on my system. Eh.   :-X

edit: and yeah, if you wanna check for CS then just check for Half Life 2. Itīs the same game, same engine and actually CS should even need less system resources.

So, if I'm currently playing FEAR, what does mean when it comes to bf2104 or Rainbox six?

To be honest, I have no clue.  ???

CSS is a game which is 2 years old and seemed to have a good code, like it didnīt need the best pc to run smooth. Fear is a new game which will probably need a good pc. Thatīs why I stated that in my previous post.

Looking at the system requirements BF2142 will need a better pc than Feart bu you never know. There were games that ran slow as fuck on my pc although it shouldnīt have been a problem at all. Then there were games which I didnīt even think about playing cause I thought it would be unplayablae, which ended up running perfectly. So you canīt always trust the system requirements.

If youīre running Fear on decent resolution (minimum 1024x768), maybe with anti aliasing turned on and all that stuff then there is a chance that youīre ok playing BF2142 (judging from the system requirements). No clue though. My pc is to shitty to try Fear (I think, at least - I should try the demo) so I canīt really judge it.

Try the demos thatīs the best bet I guess.

Iīve got:

AMD Athlon XP 2600+
1,5gb ddr ram (donīt ask me about level cache or what that fancy shit is about)
80gb hd 7200rpm
GeForce FX 5600 128 MB ram

About 3 years old I guess, that fucker is falling apart as Iīm typing.

So, not the best system to begin with but I didnīt have a lot of money and got that.

What I meant in my post, with the games which are supposed to run and donīt - and vice versa, is this, I installed HL2 and didnīt really think that it would be playable at all. Then Iīm playing it and it ran smoothly. 1024x768 resoltuion which is good for me and that was it. Then again like a couple of days ago I tried to install Civilization 4, which should run perfectly on a 20 year old pc, and it was slow as fuck. No clue why it was like that.

Iīll have to upgrade that shit soon but donīt know what to buy...

get pentium duo processor.

But with the processor he's got, he'd have to change the motherboard too for a pentium. Plus, dual core processors use more power, so he'll most likely need a new power supply too. The GeForce 5600 is old, no question about that...

Look - if you don't know how different components work with each other and what they require from each other - go to a dealer and ask for a system "for gaming" or whatever you do with it. Don't go upragind single parts if you don't know what the fuck you're doing.

About HL2 running so well - HL2 is a rare case. The engine it uses is made really well and it scales itself down really well for weaker systems. But rest assured that I'm not lying when I say that HL2 would look wayyy better with a modern graphics card.

BF 2142 I don't know about.

FEAR needs quite heavy shit to run (well at least it was heavy shit when it came out), but it does look good too. It's a really good FPS aswell. There's really nothing that you wouldn't have seen before in other games (one element there, another one here...), but they got a good balance in there and some cool action. Plus the effects of destroying the environment are pretty good looking, though things don't actually "deform" or anything.

Some say it's a scary game. It gives you a couple jumps, sure, but I'd call it more "eerie" and "spooky" than scary.
