HOLLYWOOD - Los Angeles police suspect rapper Snoop Dogg is still a member of the city's notorious Crips street gang.
The star--real name Calvin Broadus--was released from police custody yesterday after marijuana, cocaine and a firearm were allegedly found in a false compartment in his car.
Snoop had been taping a guest spot on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tuesday when he was stopped by Burbank police as he left the building.
The article continues (with nothing you wouldn't already know), but I just had to post the beginning. The only thing I can say about their suspiscions is NO SHIT SHERLOCK!

He's more like a wannabe crip. Real hardcore crips are dead before 21 or in prison doing life.
Snoop said it himself in his book and in early interviews that he never was a hardcore banger.He always said he was just a hustler, selling crack was all he did.
But nowadays he's talking like he always was a hardcore crip. Why I really don't know. Maybe he thinks it makes him more real as an artist or sumthing. That's kinda sad that a 36 year old father of 3 kids is still insecure bout his own image.

Well yeah, Snoop does do way too much with the Crippin, and he didn't even start bein this extra'd out until he left NO LIMIT, not just Death Row as some people would speculate.
However...he doesn't really promote the gang violence as much as he promotes the image and colors. To me, he tries to play it as if he is a big shot major crip who is now an OG and doesn't beef with anyone who's not a crip, and as if he is a big enough force to bring the rival gangs together...which is good in a way, but is still doin too much. You'll never hear him diss bloods, essay gangs, or anybody in the streets, so he's not exactly pushin the negativitiy...but he does promote the lifestyle as far as the attire, the slang, colors, and overall attitude.
