I was just playin this track, and damn, it's easily one of Snoop's most slept on album cuts. I'd say "Ballin" from Paid da cost is up there too....but this song got completely ignored because it had that strong Doggfather feel, but was placed on Snoop's first NL album, "Da game is to be sold" which was all No Limit styled cuts aside from 2-3 songs.
-
this song always get play from me...the video was tight too!!!!
-
never liked this all that much
to me it sounds like there's somethin missing from the beat
-
someone can hook up the video? :'(
-
yeah the track cool ..the beat was simple but tight
and ballin is my favourite track on ptctbtb
-
thats funny because yesterday i listened to Da Game and i was really feelin that song again (its been years since i listened 2 it)... Snoop World, Still a G THang, Doggz Gonna Get Ya and Hoes, Money & Clout are pretty good songs
-
You know , the game os to be sold not to be told is actualy a pretty tight. Besides songs like woof and other hard thumping no limit horn type song, there's a lot of good westcoast jams on there. Dont forgtet MAster P was westcoast riding for a while before snoop came out. Before all this crunk shit i used to listen to the suoth because guys like MAster P, eightball, mjg, scarface, willie d and even outkast to a extent all had a strong westcoast feel.
-
not a huge fan of the track but i def agree with you on ballin, easily one of the best tracks on paid da cost.
-
yeah, "hoes, money & clout" is hot. i also liked "show me love" off that album.
what's even hotter along a similar vein is "hooked" off the i got the hook up soundtrack.
lyrically, that is the most snoop was doing in his early no limit days.

no shit, I've been sayin it for years
Snoop World
Gin & Juice II
Show Me Love
Whatcha Gon Do
Still a G Thang
anybody who says this album is complete shit obviously skimmed through it looking for 1992 Chronic Snoop Dogg..... :-X
-
this song is one of his best, i loved it too.
-
Damn, I haven't listened to that album in forever. Can't remember the last time I've even seen my cd...I know one joint that I really loved was "Slow Down". It had Charlie Wilson and Mia X and had a NL feel to it, but I really liked that joint.
Somebody should hook this up.

I think it's the same way this current album is....some dope ass tracks...then some TERRIBLE filler tracks. Some of the NL songs were dope as hell, such as "Woof", but some of them were completely ass....and Snoop, just as Nas, had the gift and curse of having a perfect first album with nothing close to a filler track....so when people hear 2-3 songs from Snoop on one album that are wack, they get mad as fuck and say he fell off and his album sucks.
-
I love this track....Soopafly killed thae beat....Daz scratches are dope...
Man this album isn't that bad....they thing that kills it is basically all the No Limit artists.....But there is some quality shit on it...
Another track slept on, is the D.O.G.s et lonely too.....Been bumping that Snoop & Meech Wells shit like crazy lately......with them background vocal...smooth sound....real RnB track!
-
Lyrically Snoop was doing his thing, I just think his style did not match No Limit's beats on most of the songs.

there are some real shitty tracks on Game Is To Be Sold.. definitely, but I think BCT slightly had more wack shit
I didnt skim through BCT either, I've been listening lots and I'm only still feelin like 6-7 tracks
the ones that are good on BCT are really good and the ones that are bad are completely unlistenable with no replay value
-
its not that people are comparing him to his first cds, its the fact that he is not making great music lately, its average at best.
if that wasn't tha case, people would be complaining about 'top dogg' and 'tha last meal' but clearly no one is cos they were dope. so he needs to make more music like those two albums.
thats the truth his shit isnt good lately.
