I know everytime Dre and Snoop do a track together we supposed to say it's the greatest but I was let down by this, it is pretty dope but not classic like everybody has been saying, not even the best song on the album, the Timbo joint and Think About it where Snoop flows like a muthafucka is betta than this joint, I even think Round Here is a better song...
-
DPGC2007=ignorant
-
that's what I'm sayin since day one...

alright, granted everyone was expecting this to be the track of the year, doesn't mean that it should be labeled as overrated. i think the simple fact is that everyones' expectations were to high. if you take the song for what it is: a laid back, mellow song with a good concept, great beat, and smooth chorus , then you will enjoy it for what it is. if you expect the best track of post-2001 just because it's dre and snoop, then yes. most people will tend to think the song is overrated.
-
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I found Dre's beats the most boring on the album, pretty much bar none. And Imagine was the dullest.
-
it's a good track to me,i don't see what's the matter with it
-
i agree... the song is good, but people are praising it hard core just because it's dre and snoop.
-
It's a great song, Trust me you youngin's like shitty music.....
(I had to say it for my older hip-hop head's, who still lay in the cut)
;)

Agreed,
This tracc is highly overrated as well as other Dre produced tracc's the last couple of years....Dre's beats are starting to all sound the same, especially with that over used piano loop..Hopefully he's saving and holding bacc on all the great production for the infamous "Detox" album, droppin next year ::)

After everyone on dubcc was giving it high praises, it was a bit of a let down after I bought the album. It definatly was a good song, but nothing that special.
-
Man, that song is rediculous... I don't know how ya'll can hate, that's that real laid back, takin' bout the rap game and refectin' and all that. I like that clean, slow paced beat too... real classic if you ask me. Everyone entitled to their own opinion... that's the stand out track of the album for me though.
-
This track started to grow on me lately. I think we should just be happy Dre & Snoop are together on a track again. For 5 years everybody been bitching and crying about Dre and Snoop not working with eachother anymore. Now, finally, Snoop did some new shit together, and everybody's still bitching and crying. If it's not what you expected it to be: fuck it! Just be happy they still work together; This is only more promising for Detox.
-
I love that fuckin' song! That's the song that gets put on repeat by me. The beat is just amazing to me with that laid back vibe, the subject matter and delivery Dre and Snoop use is great and D'Angelo kills the hook.
-
This forum is the king of underrating and overrating albums and songs. It is good to have Snoop and Dre on a song again with completely different subject matter then gin, weed, & bitches. Not a diss to their other classic collabos, but this was a nice change of pace. The media hypes it up because it does not happen too often, but the song itself is cool.
-
This song is perfect for what it is... Its a song of reflection, of thought, of looking back and wondering. You couldn't ask for a better beat for this type of song.
A + in my book...
-
its a dope collabo with a dope beat but the dre should have choose a better snare on it
-
Its a dope track but alot of snoop dick riders take it too far .
-

piano is the hardest instrument imo
i think that shit is the best song ont he album
-
I agree its overratted. Several songs on Game's album are much better than this song. The beat just doesn't amaze me like dre beats used to. I have a bad feeling about detox, I feel that it will be one of the most dissapointing albums ever the way dre has been working the past few years.
-
yeah, that songs real overrated. matter of fact. that shit sucks

sure... ::)

its dope, but snoop's intro sucks and the whole thing is way too short. they stop rapping like 2 minutes in and then the beat just loops for another 2 for no reason. they should have done a third verse to help distinguish it from all the other throwaway songs on the album. really sounds unfinished.
-
So true. Anyone claiming this is a great song needs to have their dog murdered.

I agree think about it was off the chain Imagine is going to get liked more becuz DRE thats it sounded like a watered down average Dre beat like all the rest of his beats lately.
keep it movin
-
I like the track... obviously a different feel to it, I mainly just like the beat, couldn't care less about what they're talkin about
see lots of people complaining about Dre beats lately
I actually like them a lot... the ones from Snoop's, Jay-Z's album, the new Nas track with Game
he's using the same fuckin formula but I kinda like that better because it's pretty much signature stuff
they sound like Dr. Dre beats, not Dre trying to re-invent a genre
people expecting Dre to change the game with new beats are in for a dissappointment
but if you want some dope solid beats then he's doin it, I like how he's usin the Dre piano in every track

its a good track...but thats it....its too short, nothing new and def not the best track on the album
-
I mean, when it comes down to it... everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I like the track basically because that's my style, I like the laid back joints, smooth pianos, deeper lyrics. That's me. Other dudes might have wanted to hear something a little tougher or upbeat, but the fact is, that's not Dre is to me anymore... I'd rather hear him showing his age and talkin' about life experiences and what he's seen through the industry over the years, how it's affected him.
Solid cut.
-
It ain't that dope at all, i like "Boss Life" & "Round Here" more...
-

Imagine is one of the better tracks of the album. It couldve been a lot better:
- Without D'angelo
- Snoop shouldnt have changed his lyrics
- Snoop shouldve spit 2 verses instead of one.
But still a great track.
-
So true. Anyone claiming this is a great song needs to have their dog murdered.
Murder my dog and I will kill your cat
-
If you are sitting there reflecting about life, God, etc.. you are not going to use some funky hard ass beat.. You are going to use one that fits the mood of the song...

I really like D'Angelo on there, but like everything that's a matter of taste.
But I missed a third verse aswell. Not a Snoop solo verse but Snoop and Dre trading verses like they did on "Dre Day".
Something like this.
Snoop: "Imagine if these niggas never saw a colour,
would it be peaceful in them streets where niggas kill each other."
Dre: "Imagine these kids don't shootin' at each other,
imagine me standing next to my brother."
-
the song is okay.
-
I think its a great song.
-
imagine is dope 8)
-
It's a dope song. If you expect every Dre song to be the best thing you've ever heard, you will be dissapointed everytime.
