Definetly Quincy Jones, his work on Thriller is AMAZING!!!
Just listen to "baby be mine" "thriller" "billie jean" "beat it" "wannabe startin something" "P.Y.T" theese beats are the tightest beats i ever heard, they are so "clean", 100% classics. If theese songs would drop (4 the first time) today, they wouldnt sound old at all, they are timeless...
If you dont allready own this album then u got to pick it up!!! If you dont, u r a complete idiot.
Peace
-
Calm down with the idiot shit......everyone who wants the album prolly has it. I even have the vinyl, my parents got it for me when i was 5.
Ya, Quincy is the shit, i was gonna put him on my list but i think the idea was to keep it rap. But you're right, Quincy is/was amazing.

-
How come noone put Puffy on their list. I forgot to put him on mine, but i thought about it and he belongs on there so i gotta change my list somehow.
Puff has had a huge hand in a couple classic albums (Ready to Die, Life After Death), as well as dope albums like No Way Out and Harlem World jsut to name a little. Plus, he produced so many R&B joints back in the day, it is incredible what the man has done. And if you actually check it out before hating, his new album is actually really good.
Puffy changed hiphop for a couple years there with his jiggy shit.....every rapper from Snoop to jay Z says Puff was running shit and they knew there type of shit wouldn't work and they were confused as to how to find success.
Well i am glad the jiggy era is kinda over, i got love for Puff because he brings fun to the game, a little of that happy rap. Hate about his raping, jacking old songs, etc, etc, he is one of the top producers ever.
Some Dope Songs/Huge hits he produced/coproduced;
Victory
Been Around the World
I'll be Missing You
All bout the Benjamins
Can't nobody Hold Me Down
Feels SO Good by Mase
Juicy
One More Chance
Big poppa
Hypnotize
Mo Money Mo Problems

-
1. Dr. Dre (and Mel-Man since we have seen very little out of Mel-Man alone)
2. Warren G (his last album shows that he is only second to Dre)
3. Dj Quik
4. Timbo (I don't like most of the artists he produces for, but he has some of the most inovative and catchy beats)
5. F.B.T. and Eminem( Everything that they have done for Em's and D12's album has been tight as fuck.)
6. Fredwreck
7. Battlecat
8. Primo
9. Daz
10. Sam Sneed
I am listing only the best rap producers.
-
1. Dr. Dre (and Mel-Man since we have seen very little out of Mel-Man alone)
Exactly, but for all you know Dr. Dre is doing all the work. I'm not saying that he is, but if you peep "Dogg Named Snoop" then you can hear Mel-Man's beat isn't your average 2001 shit. I would not but Mel-Man in with Dre for #1 all-time. Dre was #1 when "Doggystyle" dropped.

You are right, the only reason I put him with Dre is because on the credits he is always credited, and because if I didn't I wouldn't be able to include him at all, since I would not wan't to base my judgement on Dogg Named Snoop.

My list, starting from best to worst:
DJ Quik.(All of his songs are tight)
Soopafly.(Tight as hell, but needs better mixing on some of his songs)
Daz Dillinger.(Even though he has fallen off a bit, I think if he REALLY concentrates on his albums more, he can be as tight as he used to be)
Dr. dre.(Not as good as he used to be, but has great songs every once in awhile)
Warren-G.(His first album was CLASSIC!! His second one was weak, but he seems like he's bringing G-funk back)
Battlecat.(Needs to take a break. He's tight as fuck, but Snoop's using him too much, and it shows in his music)
Erick sermon.(tha best producer on tha east coast IMO. Although a lot of his songs sound EXACTLY the same)
G-one.(Quik's co-producer on some tracks. Haven't heard enough from him solo tho')
Craig-B(I'm sure not many of y'all have heard about him. He produced some of tha tightest shit on Mystikal's albums, but just like G-one, I ain't heard enough from him)
Jellyroll.(Pretty tight sometimes, but falls off on songs like ''wrong idea'')
-
In all of music...here's my list
Dr. Dre
Quincy Jones
Jimmy Iovine
Phil Spector
DJ Premier
-
Incognito, i may be a dumbass but does Jimmy iovine actually produce (make beats and do music and shit) or does he just run Interscope and oversee things. I thought he was more business than music. Holla at me...
-

Your'e not a dumb ass; Jimmy Iovine was a rock producer in the 80's...a great one. He wasn't a producer who made beats, but more of a guider for bands. Now he runs Interscope Records and doesn't produce. The guy praises Dre all the time.
-
Jimmy has produced proper songs, yeah, but not many. More than Suge Knight's, um, two, lol.
