Title: 2Pac - House of Blues DVD
Post by: akcranker - The Dangerous Crew Movement on December 10, 2006, 03:31:15 PM
I just finally got to watch this after downloading it months ago.  That would have been an awesome show to go watch.  I thought it was funny how Suge & Pac were up in the balcony with a bunch of bitches... and then towards the end of the concert all pac could talk about was fucking.. "can we get to fucking now please?" LOL

Did they ever record any performances at Club 662 or did that not happen because of him being killed?  I can't remember if Club 662 had just opened before he was supposed to go there.

i saw the soundtrack to this the other day and almost bought it, is the soundtrack live as well or is it just the studio versions of the songs they did live? also are there live musicians that they rap to or is it just a fucking dj and some speakers?

I mean were the performances done with live instruments? did pac have like a dude on keys, guitar, bass, drums, scratching etc. or is it just a bunch of niggas circling the stage yelling dudes lines with him and shit?

It's dj pooh, and it's a little stage, it's an intimate show, pac i outta control, all dress in white. The outlawz are backing him, they're not very good though. Then you got snoop coming at the half of the show and he's backed by the pound, daz and kurupt do some unreleased song you'll never hear anywere else, you got nate dogg in a classy suit doing 2-3 songs, k-ci and jojo are there 2 freakin the bitches. Pac is one of the most vibrant and intense dude on stage, he is something to see. Snoop is fucking professional, he raps his songs exactly like they are on  his albums.

Damn. Thanks for the clips...seems like a cool party to be at but not my idea of a concert...I mean think about how much doper that ain't no fun would be with a real drummer, a real bassist, a keyboardist, a real guitarist, and pooh scratching and shit? That'd be sick...I mean it's G-funk...would you want to see a P-funk show with G Clinton and Bootsy singing to recordings of their shit? WHACK.
You're right, DPGC comes tight vocally on this but it's so whack with them over a recording. It ain't music, it's a party that got recorded.

I don't think it would fit 2pac's style. That's more for the Roots. Pac is taking all the place with his lyrics and stage presence, you don't notice everything else. When you got a band, you gotta give them almost the same amount of stage presence. Ive been to some roots concert and black thought was giving his band a big part of the show, but at the end it was like half the show was drum solos , bass solos and shit, that was cool for a roots show, but there is only one 2pac show taped ever, it's like 45 minutes of pac live, i dont want a fuckin guitar player doing solos and shit like that. Plus the beats pac was rappin on were not made to play live. Maybe a drummer, but i dont see how you can play 2 of amerikaz most wanted with a band, that's pushin's too far. This shit is club rap, in 96 2 of amerikaz most wanted was a club banger, it's seem strange today because gangsta shit like dat don't gets play in the clubs no more but in 96 that was the shit.

I was referring to ain't no fun and other funk soundscapes. and that's roots doing solos man, I'm  saying for the tracks LIKE ain't no fun that CAN be reproduced live they SHOULD have been. last time i checked there were no guitar solos in ain't no fun.

but yeah with some of the pac stuff, just a drummer would have been cool. and I'm not saying there's no artistic value in it without live instruments but if you have rappers without live instruments to me it's either : a poetry reading or a party, but I don't consider it music.
