I managed to get this album other day and it is an absolute banger. such a shame it never got released , but it was down to many reasons few which are
1. The 2 compilations released by aftermath before were strongly criticized, especially 'dr dre presents...aftermath', teh firm album was ok, but still critisized
2. originally the source only gave this album 3 mics, and that got dre thinkin. he thought y not hold off tee's album and put eminem out, as this could give aftermath more credibility and make the source and others stop giving bad feedback to aftermath and its releases.
i dont think king tee wanted this and therefor ended up leaving.
there was also a video off the album which is on you tube, the song is called 'got it locked', prod by dre, who is also in the video.

dre actually produced 8 songs on this album. it has some amazng songs like money, and en excellent song with mc ren called 2 g'z from comptom which is awesome.l
in an inteview with mel man in 2002, he talked anout this labum abit, he said it was a banger, but cant give to much details y it wont released due to confidentiality. ID LOVE TO KNOW THE REAL REASON Y IT WASNT?
i'l post a link to the album soon if u want it.
leet me know if u want the link

A pretty solid album, should have seen the light of day officially IMO.
That 'Step On' track with Dre was horrible enough to tar it for me though... Dre rapping like some smooth ladies' man was too much to take.
Definately a few five-star cuts on there though - 'Shake Da Spot', 'Let's Make a V' and 'It's Ruff' (personal favourite).

"Let's Make A V" Was Tight !!!

soo im guessin you have the german bootleg verison of the album? thats the only one ive ever seen in circulation around record shop.. and yeh the album is very dope, but so is ever other king tee album especially "IV Life" just shame the liks didnt feature on it.. without doubt my favourite track from the album was "monay" feat dre, that was a banger!... "da'kron", "speak on it", "the orignal".. fuck it every tracks dope off it...
-
yeah i got the german bootleg version, whoich has different spelling of teh original songs.
got it locked , and that's drama are 2 songs that are not on it.

It's not garbage but it is overrated on this forum. The Dre beats were poor but the Battlecat, Buddha and DJ Quik produced joints were bangers. King Tee IV Life and the Triflin' Album are way better.

That album got released in Australia I picked it up a few year ago. Good album I give 4 mics 8)
Peace

lol Step On By is one of my favourite tracks of the album - I see what you mean about the Dre verse tho, but it's a great RnB style track.

Nah, the worst beats were on the Firm album - Monay is a great Dre beat.

The Firm album had firm fiasco, phone tap, untouchables, firm family, fuck somebody else. All were dope Dre beats. The stuff on King T's album was 10 times worse.

Oh well, each to his own I suppose, although the best beats on this album weren't Dre's. Bud'da, BattleCat, Mike Dean, Quik all put in some good work.
