I heard a rumor that Iverson is going to the Heat in exchange for Jason Williams, Udonis Haslem, and a bunch of money. I want Iverson to get a ring, but please not with Miami.
-
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
-
You better hope he stays in the East. The West is way too stacked.
-
haha that would be the greatest nightmare to any nigga who gives a fuck about the lakers
-
its a possibility, but right now it is lookin like the nuggets may get him. they have two first round picks for 07, and iverson said hed be happy to play in denver. I dont see this heat deal happening, but who knows...

looks like it could be true. the guy I heard it from lives in miami and he said that local newspapers were reporting that the deal is almost final.

if it is then this blows...the sixers would be makin bad choice...
-
not enough shots to go around
-
The Heat suck, lets hope he goes to a shitty team...

Am I the only one who thinks AI is a good scorer but he's not the best fit for both Denver and Miami? I mean they already have Melo and Wade, why adding AI?
Both the teams needs other type of players, imo.
And it's the same with the Lakers. It's not that i don't like AI, but he's not the player we need. That's it.
Sometimes i think GM's do trades just for the fuck of it. AI is available? Let's get him!!! We already have Melo/Wade? Who cares, it's AI!!!
WTF.

^a trade like this would make them better regardless. not as much better as it would make a team like the wolves, but still better.
-
^^I doubt trading Haslem (one of their only reliable big men) and Jason Williams (a much less ball-dominant point guard) would improve them much...
-
Let's say i love how Mitch Kupchak is building the new Lakers. A very young and skilled team, with players who fits well in the triangle, and without doing those type of trades if they don't really improve dramatically the team to the point Lakers can be suddenly considered contenders. I like when teams adds step by step the right pieces of the puzzle. I don't like it when they sell their soul to get a good player who suddenly became available for trade. If i'm Mitch, i don't destroy my team to get AI. If i'm the Heat GM, i continue with Wade as the scorer and i try to get a good big man or some defenders. If i'm Denver GM, i try to get a defensive minded G/SF or a good big man. AI is not the right guy.

Well of course teams which are on a natural uprise or already banging shouldnt do that, but Miami is not one of those teams.

Miami should realize their reign is over, and they should start building the "new" team around Wade. They should get young players, and their objective should be to be contenders again in 4-5 years. That's realistically what they should do. To add big contracts and old guys to try to win another title will fuck them for the next 5-6 years. Let's start from zero. Let's build a new team. And Iverson, 31, when you have Wade, is not the right guy. I'm not saying Miami wouldn't improve with him, but if i'm a GM i don't trade Haslem and money/draft picks for him.

their team is ruined by shaq's contract, they can't rebuild with that. I honestly think it's not a bad idea to get AI, try to contend for as long as those 2 big ass contracts go, and as soon as shaq and AI are gone they can start to rebuild... I would do the trade if I was in charge...
also, I don't know how wade's contract extension goes, but if it's like 3 years they better have some decent teammates around him, or else he won't extend his contract another time or even demand a trade, which would brake them for the next 20 years :D
-
That's why i'm happy the Lakers didn't re-sign Shaq. It for sure stopped a reign, but we are now in the position where we can start building a new one.

I agree. Denver has a pretty decent team. Andre Miller is not in shape right now, but by mid season he'll be much better. He's a true pg who's out there looking to setup his teammates and not looking to jack up 20+ shots a night. Then they finally got a shooting guard in J.R. Smith. Carmello is a given. If Kenyon Martin & Marcus Camby weren't so injury prone, I'd say they were legit contenders. Iverson is a great player and one of my favorites, but he's not a good fit for that team.
As for Miami, I don't understand that trade at all (if it goest through). Haslem is a good all around player & his defense is tenacious. Jason Williams isn't anything special, but his quickness and playmaking fits that team well. Getting rid of those 2 and bringing in A.I. would just add a big whole defensivly, and make it tough for everyone to get enough shots. Not to mention over 20 free-throw attempts a game by Wade & Iverson.
