What do yall think? Should Kurupt be on Detox? Kurupt ripped the chronic album(he was featured on 4 songs) and was really dope in dr. dre 2001 (He was also on 4 songs). I think Dr. Dre's production brings out the best in Kurupt. I think Kurupt should be on Detox but dr.dre should make sure that his rhymes are on point.
-
hell nah, the homies lost it.. he'll never repeat the doggstyle / chronic acheivements so no point..
-
Fa sho, if he come's up with some great lyrics...
-
YO OKKA THAT NEW SOOPAFLY CAME OUT ALREADY............
-
Definitely... Dre will make him sound dope!!!
-
Ain't no harm in getting these washed up rappers to record some shit, and if it's dope, put that shit on. I'd love to see Knoc-Turn'al, Kurupt, Xzibit etc. on their (3 who haven't been very good lately), but only if they come correct. So I say have them record some shit for sure, but only use it if it's dope. If Dre feels it ain't, let them have the song for their own projects. X gotta bring that heat like he did on Cali Vacation, NOT like he came on most of his record.
-
Kurupt should definitely be on, he ripped it on Dre's previous albums and has been dope over the past year...
-
I'd like to say yes but honestly NO
-
If he can step his shit up then of course
-
yeah, he should be on there, no doubt.
-
These threads are getting REALLY old. Kurupt is becoming everyone's favorite rapper to diss and make fun of and then we get a thread like this one? Come on man. Even when Kurupt comes off nice on a song, people still making excuses and saying he is wack. Kurupt did his thing on Black Ty's album and people said that was wack, always comparing shit to Death Row. While when Snoop rips a track, it's "Oh its vintage Snoop". And Kurupt has had some good tracks this year, so if you think he is wack what difference does it make? If Dre wants him on the album, he will be on it.
-
take a STREETZ IZ A MUTHA and check one of the best albums in rap history...kurupt will allways be one of the greatest.
I wanna see a combo of upcoming westcoast artist(bishop,crook,glasses.etc..)and some who know the dre formula already(snoop,kurupt,nate..etc.)
-
uhh.... probably not
you got 50 Cent and Eminem and Stat Quo and every wack rapper on that team roster saying they supposedly getting on
sounds like it's gonna be another "Re-Up"
if so then.... why not throw another shitty rapper on the fire aka Kurupt
-
Even if he has fallen off a bit he should definitely be on it.
-
yeah, he should be on there, no doubt.
-
Yes.

When dude comes correct on a track, I say it. I am in NO way hating on Kurupt. I'll be the first to say the same day, different shit cd, was pretty decent. solid 3.5/5 stars man. You can't compare him now to his death rows days (can you really compare ANY artist of today, to when he was in his PRIME?). Yea, Snoop be getting his dick rided alot. I still have to check out Black Ty's album, I hope he spits fire like you said he did.

He should actually GO to detox.
Crack head muthafucka.

-
he should be on it
-
he should be on it but dre has gotta exercise some quality control over it and then maybe we will get another verse like the one kurupt dropped on hi teks album.
-
fuck al lthe hatin, kurupt can be dope, listen to same shit different day, the track on game's album, cali iz active and then judge without sayin hes bad alreayd b4 u start listenin and compare it to other rappers right now
kurupt > at least half the new rappers comin out with their wack shit (like mike jones, paul wall and those other cats coming out with their high sellin garbage)
and dont forget the hi-tek joint, when he is pushed to do his best he can do it, with dre behind the boad he will go good, believe me
-
If he steps his game up hell yea, why not.
-
id be disapointed if kurupt wasnt on detox to tell the truth...
-
Fuck Kurupt, I want Ghostface, Common, Papoose on there, I dont want another Chronic or 2001, if yall keep expecting that it will be the biggest disapointment in hiphop history for yall
-
he should put the originals on it from the west and the new be's game and bishop and 50 and em not g unit though they dont deserve to be on it

Kurupt should definately be on Detox. Dre has always liked Kurupt, and always worked closely with him even in periods when he wasn't doing much for anybody. Even if Kurupt ends up wack (which Dre will never allow to happen) this Detox album is going to be more about Dre's career than hot verses.
-
i dont think too many is really checking for Kurupt oustide of Cali anymore. so out of a buisness stand point i would say no. he could be replaced by an artist who appeals to more of a national presence.
but of course, being from the west and seein his potential, i believe Dre can bring some of the old g -shit outta kurupt. 2 sides to the story. all in all, i say yes. again, there is that west coast bias from me, and that will always be there.
-
Kurupt and Snoop are chronic staples now. Chronic 2001 pretty much cosigned that, does anyone know why Daz wasnt on 2001 though? lol

i vaguely remember someone mentioning that before. but im probably going to have to just take your word for it as it sounds like something daz would say directly lol

It really depends on what kind of album Detox is going to be. Snoop has always maintained a good relationship with Dre so he will be on it. Now if it is set up like Chronic or 2001 then I could see Gotti being on there. Detox sounds like it will be a concept album so he could be on a track that is real gangsta or something like that, but Dre pretty much follows the same pattern. Artists that he currently works with on a regular basis are on albums like that, a couple of old school surprises and he always breaks a new artist on there so as of right now I would say Kurupt would not be on it.
-
has Brotha Lynch ever worked with tha Doc? ???
-
Kurupt should definitely be on, he ripped it on Dre's previous albums and has been dope over the past year...
co-sign, he still got it somewhat and he has always been good on Dre's albums

dre shud give his last album a westcoast sound, cuz he started there and he shud end there too, u know give love back to all the ppl who been supporting him throughout the years
-
I'd be sad as shit if Kurupt wasn't on that shit. I'd protest.
