I have never downloaded much music or listened to much music that has been downloaded however when ordering CD’s or even more so with Vinyl from online shops like CDnow or Amazon there is a not so infrequent option to order an edited version.

Innumerable singles have edited (or more usually called sometimes called "radio" versions which is why your calling then edited confused me) on them so they will no doubt be available for download from somewhere. Evidently its just not an easy job to find them.

As far as editing them yourself goes you could have a try but if you don’t want to pay for the software then the only free stuff I can think of is either Awave Studio 8.0 or Cooledit (I think the newest version is still 2000). Not sure how difficult it will be to do the editing yourself though, try the different special effects and see what you get, good luck.

Oh you meant that kind of editing (you should have said radio versions)
