If your signed to a recorde lable but your not releasing anything i.e. hittman,  do you get any money,  do you have a set salery or do you get paid strictly on tha stuff you release an how much you sell

Hitman's still bringing in cheese from the "2001" album.  He owns all his publishing, so tracks like "The Next Episode" that he co-wrote, he made alot of money off that shit.

basically the answer is no. until you sell shit, you dont make shit. unless its a big label and they give out cash advances or whatever.

anything the label gives the artist has to be paid back from album sale revenue before the artist makes a penny. that includes money for promotion, videos, etc etc etc
