Title: Tha Dogg Pound (2 Songs Question)
Post by: Lunatic on December 27, 2006, 07:04:27 PM
How come on "livin' tha' gangsta live" (from the 2002 album) and "we livin' gangsta like" (from the dillinger & young gotti album) both have the exact same xzibit verse ???

both of these are OFFICIAL dogg pound albums aren't they?

the xzibit verse on D&G is extended and the beat has alot of added elements. I think they recorded that song when kurupt & daz were fuckin with deathrow and since suge owns all the masters he got to release the unfinished song. i personally like the 2002 version better.

yea, I realized the beat was different. I've only listened to both songs 1 time each now, (the 2002 version 1st, because i'm listening to all their cd's in order, and that 1 came 1st). and I was listenin to the D&G album, and recognized X's verse. Thanks for clearing that up.

np i also gotta add that on the D&G album some of kurupts adlibs vocals are lowered a bit "NIGGA THIS DOGG POUND GANGSTAS" is one that comes to mind

nah i mean they just edited that adlibs vocal level low cuz it was pretty loud before. listen to the 2002 version and check it out when he says it.

haha, true homie. I ain't really feelin' it to be honest. But so far this D&G album is dope (I'm currently on Best Run, track #12) and so far I'm feelin' Dipp' Wit' Me, We About To Get Fucc', Gitta' Strppin', Party At My House, You're Just a B.I.T.C.H., Treat Her Like a Lady, At Night. 8)

I've liked what I've heard from them before, so I finally decided to check out all their old shit. Cali Iz Active was their 1st album I heard. Mediocre at it's best. But I still liked what I heard from them here and there, and plus I heard they had a classic in their catalog (dogg food), so I decided to check out all their albums. Dogg Food is indeed a classic album. Wasn't really feelin' 2002, besides a few tracks here and there. I'm now on D&G and I'm suprised by it so far. Within' the next few nights, I'll prolly listen to D&G II & Tha Last Of Tha Pound. So by the time Dogg Chit arrives, I'll have heard all of their previous 6 albums, and be all ready for the 7th 8)

Them DPG 1s
D.O.C.'s debut
Dre's Chronic
N.W.A.
MC Ren
A bit of DJ Quik (gotta finish his catalog)
Mack 10's records

I haven't even listened to all of snoop's records LOL.

I still gotta listen to the game is to be sold, not told still. And i've only listened to tha doggfather, no limit top dogg, tha last meal 1 time. I've listened to doggystyle, and his last 3 I few times. But i'm still gonna go back and listen to all his solo's agian, soon.

Dillinger and Young Gotti is a personal classic, only Dogg Food is better when it comes to Dogg Pound albums.
