Title: Upcoming transfers
Post by: Noname on December 28, 2006, 10:37:31 AM
Casano is probably going to Ac Milan, dont know if thats good thing for Milan. Hes a great player but has a fuckedup personality.

And Mascherano is probably going to Juventus. Great buy for Juventus.

Chelsea is tryin to get Upson. Dont really know him.

And AC Milan just bought Leandro Grimi. A promising left back from Argentina.

I got this from a dutch website so i cant post the links.

lol i meant what are trades? And what are free agents?

Is that like just trading one player for another without paying anything to the club he plays for.

It's a bit different, also I think it's much more complex than the FA Market and trading in the MLB.  Read about it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_transfer

A Free Agent is a player that has reached the end of their contract and that player is at liberty to sign with whatever team is the best choice, which of course is usually the team with the highest offer. In MLB, a player has to spend 6 years under contract with the team and he can't become a free agent until he has completed his service.  I believe by the third yeard of service though, they can start earning much more money than the minimum through arbitration (basically they either settle with the team or have a mediator i guess determine their value).  A trade is pretty much exchanging players. Sometimes teams have to eat up some of the player's contract to trade them.  For example right now, the Yankees are trying to trade Randy Johnson...but they have stated that they will not pay any of the remaining contract (16 million/1year).  The Diamondbacks are rumored to be interested, since they have to take on all of the 16million dollars to acquire him they probably don't have to give up quality young players to get him.  But, if the Yankees were to pay let's say 10 million of it, then the Diamondbacks would have to give up talent.

Chelsea in for Upson seems an unlikely deal, I think the rumour has blown up due to the uncertainty surrounding Terry's back problems. Without him they are very frail right now, so it only seems natural that these rumours will appear.

The main transfer I expect is to see SWP to move from Chelsea on-loan, my guess would be to Portsmouth, with Manchester City his second option.

So its more about contracts. You dont have any clubs playing a fee for a player besides his contract.

With football its different. A players signs a contract for lets say 5 years. After 5 years if he dont renew his contract he can go to another club for free. But that usually dont happen, cuz if a player doesnt want to renew his contract the club sells him. But if a club wants to buy the player and he still has a 2 year contract then they have to pay a fee to the other club. Thats why you got a these crazy transfers nowadays. For instance last summer Chelsea tried to buy Adriano for 100 milion euro! And thats without his contract, so that money goes straight to the other club.

Mentioning Kalou, two games ago vs Wigan he impressed me alot, for the first time he seemed confident and got past players and showed some of his talent. I don't understand these young players, they sign for big clubs and they know that they wont be playing week-in,week-out, yet they still do it, it does nothing but harm their development.

Personally, I would rather player for a lesser known club and player all the time.

Well money makes all the difference in the world. But escpecially when youre young its important that you play every single week. So thats why i never understood why he left Feyenoord in the first place, and got to chelsea in the second place. I would rather play for Sevilla every week then sitting on the bench at Chelsea.

Yep, the same situation is in talk with the media over in England now, surrounding Micah Richards joining Chelsea, who also plays for Manchester City. This is going to be on helluva player for the future, but he should play another few seasons in Manchester before moving on, I don't even think he's turned 20 yet. Rumour has it Chelsea are interested in sending SWP back to City to get first option on Micah Richards.

Richards made his international debut vs Holland, .. I am sure you saw that.

liverpool are apparently trying to hiyjack that move, plus like ive said in another post im not sure if mascherano can move until the summer due to fifa regulations on the number of transfers in one season for a player under a certain age.

They'll probably loan him til the end of the season (loans don't count in the rule) and then buy him in the summer if they get promoted.

Camoranesi issues 'come and get me' plea

Juventus midfielder Mauro Camoranesi has issued a ‘come and get me’ plea to interested clubs in January, as he prepares to leave the Turin side after almost five years.

Camoranesi, 30, who was part of Italy’s triumphant World Cup campaign this summer, has become unsettled at the Stadio Delle Alpi recently and wants to end his stay there in the new year.

“How content am I to stay with Juve? On a scale of one to ten, I'd say I was at six,” said Camoranesi.

“I was unhappy three months ago and it's hard to explain how I got to feeling this way. The fans say I've found it hard to integrate, but that's not really it.”

Juventus' Serie A-winning side were stripped of their title and relegated to Serie B this year as a punishment for their part in the ‘calciopoli' match-fixing scandal.

But Camoranesi denied relegation has anything to do with his unhappiness and insisted that he is not simply looking to follow the examples of Lillian Thuram and Fabio Cannavaro, who have quit for the bright lights of La Liga.

“It is nothing to do with the league we are in. Basically, I just don't feel motivated enough any more,” he added.

“Once you lose your motivations, it is hard to get them back quickly unless you make a big change.”

Should Camoranesi leave the Turin giants, he would likely cost potential suitors somewhere in the region £6 million (8.9 million euros)

Lens starlet Adel Taarabt claims he rejected interest from Arsenal and Chelsea to join Tottenham.

The 17-year-old says he has agreed a deal to move to Tottenham when the transfer window reopens next month.

Reports from France last month suggested a deal was close to being agreed between Lens and Tottenham for Taarabt.

Taarabt claims he has agreed a three-year deal at Tottenham after flying in for talks earlier this week.

"I can confirm that everything is tied up," Taarabt told Lens' official website. "I was in London on Monday and Tuesday to undergo a medical.

"Everything went well and I took the chance to put pen-to-paper.

"I have signed with the London club for a period of five years. To be more precise, it is a three-year contract, with an option for two more years.

"Other than Tottenham, there were also Arsenal and Chelsea.

"I opted for Spurs because of their plans for me. They effectively offered to quickly integrate me into the first team to offer me maximum playing time.

"They hope to get the same from me as Arsenal did from Theo Walcott.

"Concerning Arsenal and Chelsea, the propositions were interesting, but as with Lens, they suggested that I spent time in the youth team and the reserves."

Should be a good signing for us as he appears to be highly rated, and it does show some young players are still picking the clubs where they think they will get the best development rather than the 'biggest' club or the one offering the most money.

They do nuture some good talent, but there are a lot of young players who have never ended up playing much of a part at Arsenal, so the first team football arguement that was previously being made isn't really satisfied for a lot of young players at Arsenal. Spurs are building a similar system to what Arsenal have implemented in trying to buy the best young talent early and then develop them as we can't really afford to wait for some other club to develop them and then pay tens of millions for them. It's worked well so far and in a few years we should have a pretty formidable team.

There are a lot of clubs after Standard Luik player Oguchi Onyewu.
Chelsea, Real Madrid, Fulham and Ac Milan are trying to get this promising defender.

Old Feyenoord player Ebi Smolarek is going to Manchester City for about 6 milion euro.

Cristiano Ronaldo's manager Jorge Mendes said in a Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo, that barca refused to buy Cristiano Ronaldo last year for 17 milion euro. Because they were trying to sign Henry.

Arsenal's promising forward Lupoli is wanted by Inter  Milan, Ac Milan, Rorino, Napoli and Fiorentina.

Juventus are rumoured to buy Sevilla's Zdenek Grygera this month.

Transfer market is starting to pick up now..

I can safely say it's the first time I have felt joy in signing a player in three years of depression supporting my club, but Parma have loaned Giuseppe Rossi until June 30th, hopefully he can make the difference and keep us in Serie A for one more season.

Calum Davenport signed for West Ham, and West Ham have had a £4m bid rejected from Birmingham for Upson.

Considering D'Alessandro was only bought by Zaragoza in the summer for £3-5m I find it unlikely that they only signed him to a one year contract, so I doubt he's going on a free.

I thought Barca wanted Saviola to sign a new contract as well.

Rossi needs games, newcastle messed him about by loaning him and then not playing him. A year or so ago i was sure he was going to make an impact at united, now im not sure. A very clever, skillful player but also very small.
