Title: streetz freestyled
Post by: Tanjential on January 01, 2007, 08:38:26 PM
after rebuying tha streetz is a mutha i'm getting the impression that alot of tracks were freestyled. like welcome home, represent dat g.c.(i think snoop says he's freestyling in the song), i've heard people say trylogy is freestyled....etc...anyone know about this album or kurupt's studio habits period?

now that we're on the subject, i've heard people claim jay-z's studio work is primarily freestyle, anyone know anything about the validity of such a claim?

I think Trylogy is a freestyle but I have never heard Kurupt's writing habits. Jay Z's rhymes are all freestyles because he said he learned that from Biggie.

If I recall.  These songs were freestyled by Kurupt on Streetz is a mutha

I Call Shot
Trylogy
Live On the Mic (KRS-One freestyles too)

Snoops verse was freestyled on Represent that GC.

I say welcome home and a few other songs cause it sounds like he's searching as he raps, on step up too for that matter.

True. Kurupt was killin the mic on that album. Maybe with this album with Snoop and Fred Wreck he can recapture some of that magic.

I agree, but searching on the mic isn't really a good or a bad thing, it just sounds improvisational. -T

I think back then Kurupt was talented enough to do that and still make a dope record. Trylogy had me  :o when I first heard it along with Step Up and many other tracks on there. But now Kurupt has to sit down and work more on his delivery and flow and not putting big words together that rhyme, but do not make any sense.
