Nash is amazing.
-
thats why he was MVP
-
wow
-
yea i was watchin this game also. Nash just runs down the court breaks down the D and dishes it off 2 someone for a dunk. fuckin cleveland sucks ass, lebron was playing like a bitch. Even though he put up 34 6 and 6 shooting over 50% he was non existant in the 2nd half.
-
fuck the Suns
-
fuck the Suns
i could really care less about the suns, but nash is averaging career highs this year. damn this fucker just keeps getting better and better i bet cuban feels like an idiot for thinking nash was to old for a 6 year deal
-
Lets not forget the system he's playing in...Boris Diaw averages almost 6 assists for the Suns, that's more than most point guards in the league...PeACe
-
LOL. Don't get me wrong, Nash is a good passer and all, and we already said a lot of times he's the perfect guy in the perfect (Mike D'Antoni) system where everybody runs and make it easier for a PG to make an assist. But the thing that got me rolled is the way you Americans take stats. LMAO. No way in Europe a player can average 20 assists in 3 quarters. It's like an european football game (soccer) finishing 18-16 after the first half: so unreal that it makes you roll. In the "FIBA world" they consider an assist only a REAL assist, if you know what i mean. When the receiver makes an easy jumper from the box, or an open lay-up, or an alley-hoop. Fucking normal horizontal passes for jumpers aren't even considered "assists", and that's how NBA PG's makes most of their assists (incl. Nash in that game). Even if 100% of the props should go to the shooter, they consider it an assist for the simple fact the PG simply passed the shooter the ball. Let me show you a stat.
Marbury 5.4 apg in the NBA -> 3.3 apg in the 2004 Olympic Games (with stats taken FIBA-style) (*)
Iverson 7.4 apg in the NBA -> 2.5 apg in the 2004 Olympic Games (*)
Wade 7.9 apg in the NBA -> 2.3 apg in the 2004 Olympic Games (*)
James 6.1 apg in the NBA -> 1.6 apg in the 2004 Olympic Games (*)
Odom 4.9 apg in the NBA -> 1.3 apg in the 2004 Olympic Games (*)
(font: http://www.usabasketball.com/history/moly_2004.html)
Funny. Stats on the right are more realistic. 20 assists in 3 quarters with FIBA-style stats is UNREAL.
Another proof? Team USA was the best team in the Olympics in assists per game (15.3 apg). Now let's see where they should rank in todays NBA with 15.3 apg.
1. Phoenix 26.5 apg
2. Utah 24.4 apg
3. Golden State 23.3 apg
4. ....
5. ....
28 ....
29. NO/Oakla. City 17.3 apg
30. Portland 17.0 apg
31. USA Team @ the Olympics 15.3 apg (*)
(*) i know they play 40 mins in FIBA games, but that ain't enought to justify the difference, don't you think?

geive credit where credit is due..20 assists in 3 qrtrs is impressive whether u r in the nba or rec ball in 6th grd...

Nash wouldn't have been close to as valuable to Dallas as he is to the Suns... he's been in Dallas in his best years physically, and never got close to the hype/recognition/impact he's got in Phoenix now.

It's definitely impressive, just not mind-blowing and doesn't make him MVP material like people are making it seem, considering the system the Suns run, where centers can average 6 assists...PeACe

LMAO @ Laker fans not giving him some props! hahahahahaha!

I give him credit. Nik refuses to say anything good about a Phoenix Sun without throwing in a bit of hate. If Smush Parker dished out 20 assist in 2 games he'd make a huge deal out of it.
-
It's the system, it's the system...well, it's was the "system" that got Kobe 81 points in that one game. The players around him sucked so the system forced him to take 236 shots that game getting him all those points.

20 assists in 2 games would be excellent for Smush...I wouldn't say he deserves the MVP for it though.

Actually, he was 28-46, Jordan shot more than that on SEVERAL occasions, but never once cracking even the 70 point mark...Kobe single handedly erased a double digit deficit in the 4th quarter and won the Lakers the game. Nothing to do with the triangle offense...PeACe

Although I agree NIK needs to give Nash credit for this peformance, its clear you have no idea what you are talking about, Kobe took 46 shots and made more then 50% of them and brought his team who was down back to victory.

81 Points, 6 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 3 Steals, 1 Block
FG: 28-46 (60.9%), 3PFG: 7-13 (53.9%), FT: 18-20 (90%)
That was actually an all around great game. I don't know why Kobe haters always try to use that to their defense. I guess 81 points - selfish to them.

You're right, my source is wrong, I actually thought he took over 230 shots. ::)

Nash IS a great PG. I already stated it a couple of times. Arguably the best in the NBA. Top3 for sure. I was talking about a different thing tho.

lol...who gives a fuck about the rest of the world does?! this is the nba...they've had these rules/stats for a long time...so dont complain about it or try to make what Nash does any less impressive
-
How many MVP's does Kobe have again?
-
If Pheonix continues to win at this pace and Nash keeps it up he will no doubt be the 2007 NBA MVP.
-
How many MVP's does Kobe have again?

if kobe wanted to he could get 256 assists in a quarter not just the game but the entire quarter, and thats not mentioning how he would shatter Wilts record of a 100 points in just the first half... god bless kobe
