1. They play 2 songs followed by 10 minutes of commercials
2. They play the same 5 songs over and over
3. They wanna make passionate gay love to every artist from the south
4. they change hosts every 2 weeks
5. They dont break any dope new artists
6. They're hoes to the major labels
7. Extremely boring interviews, when they could be playing videos
8. Used to be an hour and a half, but they cut it down to make room for Wayans bros. reruns
9. They ignore female MC's
10. They let DJ's promote their crappy mixtapes ad nauseum

all true, except for number 3

anyone see Saigon looking like he wanted to smack that dj when he said lyrically Jay-Z and Young Jeezy are the best? lol
-
I feel you on all that shit. Rap City used to be a damn good show. Def BET's answer to Yo! MTV Raps. After they were acquired by Viacom it got extremely horrible, just like MTV.

Rap City has now real host and when they do get one they are fucking anoying as hell.
-
After they lost Tigga they went WAY downhill, it was classic when Tigga AND the featured rapper both spit hot shit in the booth, BRING TIGGA BACK!

They couldn't keep Tigga on there cuz he actually freestyled circles around half these rappers. Most everybody on there came in with pre-written shit, and Tigga would come off the dome and be pretty nice sometimes. The only dude that I can remember that actually freestyled was Killer Mike and he came off real nice.
-
It kind of seemed like Tigger was holding himself back in the booth. The only cat on TV who is a dope hip hop host is Cypha Sounds. That guy is funny as hell. If you want real music on TV, you gotta watch the Neo-Soul Cafe or listen to Sirius or XM on your sattelite.
-
It actually used to be 2 hours. I'm not sure even Tigga could save the show now. One thing is for sure, they'll take that shit off the air before it gets any better
-
Rap City sucks. Even 3 years ago the shit was good. Now I don't even bother watching it. Everything Tha_Blaq_Sinattra said is true.
-
Rap City always sucked. They jutt need to play videos, fuck the interviews,.
-
Well it's not like there are any good videos to play these days anyway. But I aint checked for Rap City in about 3 years, it been wack for a minute. When Tig first started hosting in '98 the bassment concept was cool for a couple years, then it got old. It was best in the days of Lez and Joe Cleezy no doubt, when they would do each show in a different location. And of course the videos were better and more diverse back then too. Off top I can remember Big Lez interviewing Ras Kass in a friggin helicopter, Nas at a restaraunt when IWW dropped and Destiny was a baby, Ghost at a soulfood joint when Ironman came out, Meth at Times Square & Toys R Us......I miss them days yo
-
The hosts are never TERRIBLE, to the point that there are akward silences and all else...but most of them do try to hard, and they always kiss the rapper's asses every time. I do agree that there aren't really enough good videos to play right now, but they do not ever break new artists, and it is obvious that the show is a hoe to the major labels.

Milk it! Milk it! Milk it! Hits was a straight up fool. I always wondered what happened to he show because he didn't immediately show up on MTV. He was on How High and then you didn't see him and then he popped up up on Punk'd

Hell yeah man. I remember him working behind the counter at burger king doing that shit. He was crazy. Didn't think anybody would remember that shit.

He did some other wild shit like he went to college booths and placed porn mags on the table and acted like they put it there
