Title: Hittman Huh...
Post by: AlerG on October 28, 2001, 04:28:13 AM
y'all make such a big deal outta this dude when he ain't much better than mediochre...he ain't gonna do nuthin with em on his new record...obviously he ain't worth spendin time on cause dre ain't even fucken with him...he came up in 99 and ain't done shit since, and don't even say that no-better than decent shit that was released by him earlier this year...i think his shit is over with...i can't see anything be released by him on aftermath so quit havin high hopes on him when you know that an appearance by hitt on anything would be nothin short than a miracle...i ain't hatin on him but i just can't see anything happening with him, peace.

yeah i know man.. i've give up faith.

why no appearances.. why no news?

i do like hitts flow.. he is good and should put a record out.

people think i'm a big hitt fan because of http://hittman.igangsta.com but the reason i did it was because there was (and still is) no information on hittman out there.

I like Hitt a lot, he's a talented cat, original too.
but yea I dont see him becoming big. I think he'll end up getting off Aftermath and going independent.

how long did dre work on 2001?
i think it was bout 2 years..
i dont think he spend more time for a hittman album than his own.., so i think he have done the same thing he did with with the nwa reunion with hittman..

Man, peeps have been askin where is Hittman for about a year now.  THAT IS SAD, we're still asking this same question.  I'm very disapointed because I was looking forward to Hittman more than Rakim.  After the N.W.A. project got shot down, I was like, okay we still got Hittman.  Now it's like, okay, fuck that...Rakim will drop a bomb album with Dre.  Now that shit is up in the air.  I have always liked Hittman's rhyme style, it was slow, simple; but it was kinda humorous and dope like that.  Shit, you know there is a Hittman album out there, and Dre's got it too...but I guess he's doing the same like he did with King Tee and his album.

What's up with that Ben Baller fool?  His site keeps us hopin, but those hopes are gone.  I don't know y'all...

I can see why AlerG...but I'm not a big fan of Rakim...I'm just a West Coast hip hop head.  That's why I'm hungry for Hittman...i will be str8 West Coast with a lot of Dre production/appearences.  If Rakim drops, Dre will prolly not even produce half the album...Premiere, Alchemist and other non Dre related prodcucers will handle the beats.  I'ma be real, if Dre wasn't involved in "Oh My God" than I wouldn't turn my head for Rakim and the album.

yeh i kinda agree with alot of ya there man, i think i like hittmans laid back flow, if u hear songs like big ego's on 2001, that song was dope and yeah i think i prefer 2 see his album drop rather than rakin cuz his west coast and not just that, his young and young niggaz need to be given a chance with all these big names alot older then them, specially in the west where there alot of talent. e.g ludachris, south right i think? man he young and blew up but hey he aint west and there some ill young rappers in the west that just need to given a chance to blow up. i mean like xzibit's blew up now after restless but like hey he aint no youngster compared to some of these man. hey thats my own opinion anyways, thats why i wanna see hittman drop before rakim, but seems like both projects are fucked up at the moment. maybe mellowman will hitt us with a update soon about the 2 of them?

peace

At first i was fiendin for somethin from Hittman, but the anticipation wore of mad time ago and now im really not bothered if he drops or not...

As for Rakim, y'all cant speak on Sohh if you cant recognise Rakim, at least they give SOME, albeit very little credit to the west's greats...

Least Jermaine & Lyrical G feel me.

But AlerG, I've said before I'm not a hip-hop head because I don't really care for East/South rap music.  Out of my rap collection, only 3 CD's are East coast..the rest is wc.  That's okay you say that about me, cause I'm a West coast hip-hop head...and that's all that matters here homie.

hittman is the best thing from the west since tash's 'rap life' lp.

he tore the 2001 lp apart - don't hate.

AlerG-Note: Opinions.

I'm no great fan of Rakim, I'm into deep hip-hop, introspective or emotional hip-hop, not plain lyricism. I recognize his skill, but who doesn't? I just don't feel him that much.

I'm sorry, but saying you're into rap music and you don't feel Rakim is just straight blasphemy.  You people need to do your homework.  Half of these cats wouldn't even be rhymin' if it weren't for Ra (ask Kurupt).

There was a lot of cats out there before Rakim's time...so if it wasn't for acts like them Ra prolly wouldn't be in business...Grandmaster Flash, Afrika Bambata and Run DMC.

Yeah, "2001" was the first time we heard Hitt rap.  Before that, I remember reading about him a lot.  Then I saw his name on the, "Just Dippin" credits.

Yeah, that's just proving my point though.  I didn't say Rakim started rap, but he is widely recognized as being the one who took the art of rhyming to new heights, and inspired a lot of people to pick up the mic.  You can hear his influence in the flow of most mcs today.

damn man..  i can't believe people are hatin on 'The R'

Although todays artists use varying flows and techniques, Rakim is probably the biggest pioneer of things that are common place nowadays.

from a "West Coast" perpsective I want Hittman because we want to know what he's capable of, but looking at it from a 'bank' balance perspective Aftermath could be forced to drop Rakim, purely because its known that Rakim and the good doc are gonna be a top combo and will have wider appeal.

here are some snippets i found on the 'net

"Rakim is a poetical poltergeist," says Kurupt, former Dogg Pound potna. The man who queried, "Who's jokin? Rakim never joked / So why should I, loc?" (on Snoop Doggy Dogg's 1993 "For All My Niggaz & Bitches") (overseer :btw he's referring to Eric B & Rakims 'I Ain't No Joke' next line he says "Now that's my idol...") praises Ra as "perfectly precise. His lyrics are so potent, he doesn't have to scream to get his point across."

i also found this in an article on the 'net
"Being on Aftermath has possibly given another fan of Rakim the chance to bless the mic with the God. "You better believe I want to work with Rakim!," Kurupt said in an interview with Allhiphop.com."

sounds gooood ;)

Overseer, I'm not hating on Rakim.  I don't know enough about him to hate on him.  I just don't listen to him man, I'm into that West coast gangsta shiiit.

That's a shame that some people say they can't get into Rakim, but claim being a Hip Hop fan...I can understand where your coming from saying you only listen to West Coast Hip Hip, but that's Rakim mabn, that's just wrong to not know how great he is...

Ya'll need to open your ears and expand...Not to knock anyone, that's just my opinion...Peace

This may seem mean, but shut-up.  So what I don't listen to Rakim, my ears are open to other types of music that isn't even rap...that is far better than Rakim.  I don't think you can see that NIK.  Hope you understand, peace.
