I'm talking like the West Coast version of like a Nas or AZ, I've been listening to Nas album alot lately and I'm starting to get back to listening to lyrical shit and not so much the Jeezy type rap shit that seems to be hot rite now, I mean I still listen to early 90's Cube and to me he is the best West Coast lyricist of all time
-
Ya Boy may be worth your time.
-
Crooked I , Ras Kass, Sly Boogy, Kurupt in the Deathrow/Antra era,One2 is one of the new hot lyricists, Bishop got that heat also, TEhniec and Dc gang...
-

I think so too.
-
Crooked, Rass Kass yeah they are like the west coast version of an AZ both are dope I'm a check out Ya Boy and some of the other cats mentioned, it seems like the only rappers on the West that get publicity is Snoop and Game who I'm a fan of too but they ain't exactly dope lyricists
-
I am liking the music I have been hearing from Maylay lately.
-
Kam

crooked not only is almost as dope as nas or az lyrically, he is miles beyonf nas, az, and anyone on the east coast style wise. fuck dude needs to drop and lp before he's rhyming bitch with switch like all his forefathers...
kurupt(check 1 n 1 out, dude still got it) and ras kass are also comparable.

Kurupt is not even the top rapper in DPGC right now.
-
Really man? I'm just going off of Game's new record, Real Soon, and 1 n 1 out. haven't heard much other recent Kurupt. but to me that's a handful of recent stuff, and you're as good as your last transaction you know?

-
Kurupt is the West Coast Prodigy, both were top 10 MC's at one point, now they hardly even rhyme anymore, I rather listen to Snoop and Game than Kurupt rite now

Right, but Daz, Snoop, Soopafly, Rage, they all been rapping better than Kurupt lately. He is getting better but he still has a ways to go. Kurupt ain't even in my Top 10 on the west right now.
-
i guess i'm just partial as fuck. Kurupt almost always does it for me.

Kam
Sly Boogy
These are some of the ones to me that have been bringing it lately IMO.

i feel his lyrics on 1 n 1 out are some lyrical shit. if he comes like that all on the new dp album he'll have a run at the title again.
what is the song where he's like 86 mania/vampires out transylvania?

Ice Cube
Xzibit

Kurupt can be kind of misleading to me with his lyircs. Sometimes be just throws metaphors and multi syllable words together that rhyme but do not make any sense. On 1 n 1 out he is starting to structure his lines alot better. Listen to Dogg Food then listen to Cali Iz Active or just listen to all of his albums and you can hear his rhymes start to break down.
-
have not heard anything from d and yg II, CIA, ATG, SDDS. and dude is my favorite rapper. so yeah, got some catching up to do.

-
I always feel like when Kurupt is trying to be lyrical these days he just puts together a bunch of big words that don't make sense Milli monotone, cyclone Stallone Marone chaperone shiny chrome Capone WTF? shit is wack juice
-
I forgot One 2 also. He got some dope shit too. Kurupt was one of my favorites too but like I said he has improved on the mic lately but I want to hear it for a whole album for me to even put him on the list.

words thanks. +1

Another rapper to me that does not get his props for being dope as fuck on the mic is B-Real from Cypress Hill. I know the voice takes a while to get used to but at least you can say nobody sounds like him. But lyrically he brings it on almost every song he has been on.
