I hope Little Miss Sunshine sweeps.
-
Scorsese better win for The Departed.
Eventhough Little Miss Sunshine was great, Babel was the better picture.
-
Three Six Mafia 1
Scorsese 0
Life suck's don't it?
-
I hope neither Babel nor Lil Miss Sunshine win. Both movies weren't bad, but i don't htink they deserve a fucking Oscar. I haven't seen the other 3. I hope Penelope Cruz takes it for actress
-
i think babel should win, i just saw the queen, and it was good but i liked babel more, and its more oscar type, but i havent seen the clint eastwood flick
-
scorsese deserves an oscar damn it

GO LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE!

Pan's labyrinth should definitely win every award it was nominated for...to tell you the truth i'll be surprised if it wins more than 1 or 2...but it should win every one...and the departed should win a few too...that was my favorite movie of last year (though the illusionist was definitely tied for that position)

WTF!?!? I never heard of Letters from Iwo Jima! I seen Flags of Our Fathers and heard that Eastwood was making a series of movies based around the pacific campaign but didnt hear anything about it since Flags came out. Was it in limited release? if so,why? I cant go anywhere without hearing commercial/advertising for bullshit like Stomp The Yard but movies i actually wanna see i dont hear shit about....
-
i really like the Departed and i really think Walhberg is a decent actor but does he really deserve a nomination?

The Departed was his best work ever, but I agree, it still wasn't really good enough.
He'll always be Marky Mark in my eyes :(

It was released in December, and it was a very limited release. It really fucking blows how people flock to see pathetic movies(Epic Movie, Stomp the Yard, etc), but they have no interest in watching movies like Letters from Iwo Jima, Children of Men, Volver and so on. The people that really enjoy movies get punished. They either have to make a long drive to see one or wait for it to come out on DVD.
I saw Letters from Iwo Jima last night, and wow it is a great movie. It's amazing that Clint Eastwood has made four really good movie in a row. He has made Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby, Flags of our Fathers, and Letters from Iwo Jima since 2003 plus the guys is now 76 years old!

I wouldn't mind if he won. I don't think the film is Oscar worthy. It was a little too clche hidden in an idy style, but still there if you look for it. But I have no problem with his performance. I'd prefer Whitaker taking the nod over Gosling, but I wouldn't care at all if he beat out DiCaprio or Smith. Of course the great stroy for me would be Peter O'Toole finally taking one home. He's been up for it 7 times already and has yet to win, and he did a super job in Venus so my vote would have gone to O'Toole if I was a an Oscar voter, or one of their assistants which I've heard do most of the voting for a lot of older members that don't watch new films.

the best way you can describe it, you didnt like leo in blood diamond, i thought he was great, i need to see last king of sctoland and venus to judge the others

I didn't like Blood Diamond all that much. Felt like left wing propaganda but I thought Leo was great. It just shows how great I thought Gosling was. I'm not saying he was better. I'm saying I wouldn't be disappointed if he beat out Leo.

Haven't seen half nelson, but Gosling will always be a douche for playing that bitch-ass in the Notebook. That movie made me angry

I avoided that film. This guy can really act though. It wasn't just Half Nelson, a few years back he was in this film called the Believer. He played this jewish kid who joined some neo-nazi group because he hated his jewish heritage but is torn throughout the film because he loves the religion and hates it at the same time. Powerful performance.
