I was surprised to find a copy of "Welcome To Death Row." So far, i've seen about half, and they're talkin about alotta shit I didn't know about...very interesting. Funniest part so far is Snoop's response to the D.A. on his murder case, "Fuck you...bitch." LOL
-
Just finished it, great documentary. Dam, that David Kenner fool seems cold.
-
dawm i wasn't able to get the ripp ;D
anyways i didn't find it at mine , maybe i didn't arrive yet ???
-
Incognito where do u live?
-
Connecticut

I was gonna make a thread on this ;D I copped it on DVD yesterday. Shit was kinda haunting, I didn't really realise how many other people were involved wit tha Row at the time. I thought the bit's on Pac could've been better though. On the back cover it's has a caption saying, "Snoop's reminisences are worth the price of admission alone" & that shit was sooo true. He really talked in depth about his days.
-
That DVD is definitely worth buying. The most shocking thing was Snoops behavior at that award show where Suge dissed P-Diddy. Ive never seen Snoop act like such a dick before.
-
can u get tan at blockbusters ?
j/k
lol ;D
-
LOL
damn i really want to see this, i better order thsi shit now before i forget again
-
Man, after seeing this for a second time it gets fuckin better. Go and see this y'all.
-
is there any difference form the VHS and the DVD?? cause sometimes DVD's have extra stuff and alll and i was wonderin which one i should get, cause my DVD player is on my computer and the screen isnt as big as my tv's
-
I would say yes, because VHS can only hold 2 hours of video, and dvd can hold a lot more than that, plus the documentary itself is almost 2 hours. The DVD includes a 20 minute interview with Snoop Dogg... that shit is just incredible... it was mentioned before, but just that interview is worth the money... and its true icognito, you watch it more than once, you learn a lot more... there are so many people involved in this, it looks at the business side, more than the music side and you just think "WHY DID THEY EVEN LET THIS LABEL EXIST" ... David Kenner seems like a real cold man... worse than Suge Knight... they even mention in the documentary that he probably punked out Suge...

Man, I just bought this tonight.... I thought I was kinda wack actually.
I read alot of your post and you all hyped it up a lil bit too much in my opinion.... They hardly even talk to the artists.. i thought that's what it was gonna be about.. artists in Death Row.. talking about shit they've seen.... Harry'O is kinda the highlight in the whole documentary IMO...
I'm kinda dissapointed... missing my 20 bucks...
Only thing making up for it is that I FINALLY found King Tee's "Ruff Rhymes: Greatest Hits Collection"..... this shit is TIGHT. "Act A Fool", "Bass", "Played Like A Piano", "Payback's A Mutha", "Can This Be Real", "Just Clownin", "Ya Betta Bring Your Gun", tight tight tight tight old school west coast shit......my bad, I know it's off topic.. but this cd's helping me forget about my 20 bucks...
-
I'm not dissappointed basically because I knew what it was... a documentary... so I knew what i was up for... and i wanted it.... I luved it...I don't think I overhyped it my mind... knowings its a documentary should kind of give it away

That King Tee CD Rocks. With The Smokin' Gun On The Cover... I Luv That Song "Played Like A Piano", It's LIke Ice Cube's First Appearance After Leaving NWA.

The DVD is great but 2 complaints
1.the only dr related music throughout he dvd is deep cover
2.only worth seeing once
i bought it for fuckin 15 bucks and i've only watched it once....no desire to see it again whatsoever..i mean it was real good and informative but rarely entertaining...i mean 3/4 of the documentary was an extended way of saying "the music industry is cold".you guys overhyped it..the death row opening party footage is real good too though, the snoop interview is the best part easily but it would have been better with the songs he was talking about being played here and there...another highlight was 2pac's radio interview dissing Dre that was interesting as fuck..and the source awards with bad boy and dr dissing eachother, snoop didn't really act like a dick IMO he was just like "the east coast don't love us? is that true?" trying to get a rise out of them ya know? he didn't diss but whatever.....but i don't give a fuck about harry o and david kenner and all that bs....i thought it was gonna be about how the artists lived on the label and shit..and the harry o interview was hardly audible! the good parts of this dvd are REALLY REALLY interesting but you have to go through a lot of boring shit to get to a medium amount of juicy stuff....i have mixed feelings about buying this thing...i want to make it clear though that the dr party footage and snoop interview outtakes are separate from the documentary itself so you should get the dvd if you decide to get it..in conclusion, truthfully i feel more of a complete fan of these artists now that i know some more...btw the rick james parts were cool(yep rick james was on tha row),and the revelation that c.delores tucker probably only went against gangsta rap to get a chunk of the music business her damn self was gold..i hate that bitch.peace-Tanjint

Yup that's the main thing.... paid 20 bucks and dont even plan on watching it again...
I knew it was a documentary... just thought they would focus more on interviews with Ex-Inmates.... you know "WELCOME TO DEATHROW".... hear first hand from the artists who were at the Death Row studios everyday and had to go through all that.
And the little inteview footage they showed on the artists... I had already seen on MTV or whatever... except the old Eazy footage.. that was pretty cool... but still, wasn't worth 20 IMO.
Anywayz... 'bout to go listen to King Tee once more before I knock out... I might wake up tomorrow rappin everything like Mix Master Spade... LoL
-
btw the rick james parts were cool(yep rick james was on tha row)
I hope you don't mean the Rick James who sang, "Super Freak." Cause that person we saw isn't him dogg.
-
I told ya'll to pick up the book! "Have Gun Will Travel:Rise and Fall of Death Row," by Ronin Ro. "Welcome to Death Row" only skims the surface of what went down at DR. Ya'll obviously like to read, so cop the book, you won't be disappointed at all.
-
DId you see how puff proved he was better than deathrow, by saying some shit like "even though Suge/deathrow made some negative comments about us, i would to congratulate Dr Dre etc for chronic etc blah blah"
Biggy and Puffy are the real men
"Only cowards diss"
-
BIG AND PUFF ARE THE REAL MEN??
LOL
LOL
LOL
joke of tha day or sumthing
good one!
Big bite 2pac like biggie was eating a burger (and u know biggie loved burgers)
and puffy just a bitch
only bitches who are only in it for the money and dont wanna get shot DONT DISS
-
No desire to watch it again... not now, but someday I will wanna watch it again... and the reason there is not music is because deathrow and priority didn't give them rights to the music... they say that at the very beginning of the documentary.

yeah but i was referring to his statement
"only bitches who are only in it for the money and dont wanna get shot DONT DISS"
-
yeah but for real, if suge was involved in killing 2pac and biggy, that's fucked up......
Did you know that security cameras had caught suge talking to orlando the same night
Suge respond i believe was "I was asking him for time" lol?
-
Puffy is in danger of losing Bad Boy, because Arista is tired of his shit. 2Pac and Biggie are both dead, over who knows what, and Suge Knight's once great empire is down and out. Just watch the doc. and don't bring up the D.R. B.B. shit with the dissing. No good came out of that.

why is arista tired of his shit?
-
Who's Scrappy?
-
Look at the sig. that would be m, M Dogg, but now for keystylin' I use a new name 'cause I've been M Dogg for 2 years, and for keystyling anyways, I just wanted a change. Anyways, I thought ya'all heard. Arista is co owner of Bad Boy, but they own the name, logos and everythng else. Puffy is nder a contract to have Bad Boy on Arista, kinda like how Interscope owns half of Aftermath, they just let Dr. Dre run. Well same with Arista and Bad Boy. Basically Arista has said it's not renewing it's contract to keep Bad Boy on Arista, and they do own the name. Who knows what's up, but that's the latest on P Diddy.
-
that would be m, M Dogg,
Was cracken M Deezy?
-
LoL @ WS...
I ain't saying I prefer Puffy or Biggie's music to Pac's; It's good, but not AS good, IMO.
I'm just saying you've won the situation if you don't diss, at least in terms of principles and honor.

Yah-Im sure Arista is SOOO pissed at P-Diddy for making multi-platinum albums--that bastard!! Anyways-P-Diddy is getting a shit load of money for Bad Boy and I think he wants to focus more on the music and not the headahces of being a CEO.
-
I rented it also...It was pretty good.
-
It's not the millions they make off of P. Diddy, it's the rep they are losing they like. The trails, and drama that seems to follow Puff around, even if it's not deserve or is, worries them. Hell Suge made Interscope millions, but Interscope saw no problem kicking Death Row to "tha" streets. Arista is worried, after all it's not fans running the BIG lables, it's old white males that only listen to numbers and reputation. If the press is saying Puffy's trouble now, when in '97-'98 when he was sell, they praised him, what do you think the CEO of Arista's thinking, I got me a good man. Now that P. Diddy is on trail, and his Bad Boy's sales are still good, but not up to par, then home dude id thinking of a growing trend. Take it for what it's worth.

dawmmmmmmmm shit fucked up bu if they got this proof they can lock his bitch ass ,,,so it may be fake ... ya it's fake
